Great video! Thank you for sharing:-) The Aeropress Go really makes a good cup of Joe:-) We got a bit nervous seeing Baxter playing with the plastic bottle - remembering his plastic toy allergy from last year. We believe Baxters toys needs to be edible and/or organic:-)
@GadgetViper
@GadgetViper 4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video. Baxter makes it his mission to destroy unbreakable toys in a matter of hours, he gets through so quickly. Tennis balls last about 30 minutes before they are stripped down to the rubber and broke in half. The good thing about those water bottles is that he doesn't try and eat them. It's actually a little safer for him than sticks. Baxter will consume the stick and regret it for the next couple of days as the wood chips make their way though and out the other end!

I take it you're an espresso man? I do like espresso too, but when I'm out in the woods I like a slightly larger drink. Adding the water looks strange, but it's mostly because the Aeropress Go is smaller, and only holds about 150ml using the inverted method. With 20g of coffee the drink volume can actually be around 300ml, so it's fine to top it up after the extraction ;)

My roaster is very local, but unfortunately he doesn't send beans out, he said there are plans to build a website and start offering deliveries, but at the moment he just buys very small micro lots and sells from his cafe. Here's a video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hLOAiNilqai5o2g.html What I might do in the future, is buy a few bags, keep one for myself and then send the other to out as giveaways, as a thank you to my subscribers. I plan on going to another tasting evening there soon, so I'll get an update on when they are going to be shipping beans, thanks for watching

@GadgetViper
@GadgetViper 4 жыл бұрын
The Aeropress has a very broad option when it comes to the grind depending on your method, If you watch the Aeropress championship, they use a really coarse grind with huge amount of beans (like 35g for a single cup). I go for a medium grind with 20g of coffee. The adjustment on the Crushgrind is really really fine, So you'll probably have to click it about a dozen times before the grind will become medium. It's an awesome manual grinder, I'm sure you're going to love it. Thanks for watching :)

GadgetViper What are your current settings that you use for the Aeropress and Pipamoka? I just recently purchased these and am brand new to freshly grinding my own beans. I would really like to taste the coffee the way you like it. I know it’s all a matter of preference but would still like to taste the preferences of an experienced palate. Don’t want to reinvent the wheel. Thanks Again!!

There are some awesome Aeropress brew methods, there's a World Championship each year. It's fun to see the winning methods. Most of the recent ones have used a really coarse grind but with much more weight, like 35g for a single brew. I usually grind medium fine and use 20g. I think there might be a close up on the grind in this video.

Do you prefer the AP Go or the original AP?
@GadgetViper
@GadgetViper 4 жыл бұрын
I think I prefer the AP go, I'm a backpacker so every gram of weight I can shave off without compromise is a win. The Aeropress Go also has a slightly larger inside diameter on the plunger, so the crushgrind hand grinder can nestle in there (with the handle off) The cup is actually quite nice to use too, although I do have a double walled titanium mug that I take on trips, so I probably won't end up using the plastic on that comes with the Aeropress Go. Thanks for watching :)
@chinechinecherie
@chinechinecherie 4 жыл бұрын
Ah thanks, great to know the grinder fits inside! Would have thought the Go to be a little smaller than the original and fewer grinders would fit, glad that's not the case.

Looks like Baxter really has a thing for plastic bottles! At least he had some doggy friends today too! 🤣 Which grind did you get? I have the original Aeropress, not a bad little brewer but I sort of like the cup on this one and they’re easy to find on the web for both. Does it use the same paper filter from the other aeropress and could you use the metal filters that are in our lawn if you like? I am also drinking Costa Rica single origin coffee today as well that I got from www.vikingcoffeeco.com/coffeeshop/single-origin-costa-rican a small business roaster upstate. He recommends a Chemex but I used the Pipamoka and it is great brewed in this way! I detected the aromas of fruitiness and that taste with a very slight hint of cocoa. Very enjoyable not bitter! You keep making the videos and we will keep watching them!

Hi Adele, Bionic Bull is my local roastery, they tend to buy very small micro batches that don't last too long, I've got a bean from Panama right now from them which is delish, otherwise treat yourself to something from squaremile coffee roasters they have some awesome beans too :) Probably won't need a dog sitter, I don't think I could bare to be away from Bax for even a day ;)

@@adelelowndes3766 I actually shot a video last weekend with a new portable coffee product, I company reached out to me and asked if I'd like to test their new Kickstarter coffee product, so I agreed, it looked really good. Unfortunately, when I began testing it, there were so many things I didn't like about it. So I sent them an email and said, 'hey, I'm happy to make this video, but it's not going to be favourable, as the product has flaws and I'm a truthful person, there is no way I'm not going to make an honest review, so let me know if you'd rather me just not bother' I'd feel terrible if my video was responsible for the failure of a business. They haven't got back to me, so I guess they'll go hunting for another youtuber with less morals.

@@GadgetViper That's so good to hear! In my opinion it's clear from your videos that you're a genuine reviewer, and you don't sell fake news. Kudos for letting the Kickstarter know, there'll always be somebody happy to review a product they wouldn't actually pay money for, hopefully their conscience keeps them awake at night.
