This is not just about aespa . All SM artists are connected even the older ones which is amazing. Just like someone said KWANGYA and KOSMO have been mentionned in NCT 90's Love. The pink planet in Next Level was first seen Super Junior House Party. In one scene in the episode that you've just watched there are many clues. On the screens u can see EXO Chanyeol from Obsession MV, NCT/WAYV Ten from Tiger Inside MV by Super M, Super Junior Ryeowook from When we were Us by Super Junior K-R-Y (sub unit) etc. I think SM will give us more explanation about the concept and all the connections between the groups in the next months. It's still a little confusing becoz this is so elaborate so let's wait. Thanks for your reaction

SM started a "concept story" when EXO debuted (exo with their superpowers and red force enemy). EXO's MVs have a continuing story. Red velvet also has their storyline. And now SM will join all their idols concept in 1 universe~~ I hope music is their priority..pure music.. not just producing certain music to "Fit" the story they want

EXO, RED VELVET, NCT and AESPA *concepts are connected*

Tbh okay im not the type to really delve into theories but I find this concept really interesting. SM ent has been on the forefront of the korean entertainment industry for YEARS and they're always first come out with something fresh and never been done before. And as much as I hate the way they manage their artists, every other company is constantly doing what SM does first, and there's many examples of that but thats besides the point for now. Essentially, they're trendsetters. Of course, with starting new things- starting change, comes people and media who are not always willing to accept it, so they do get quite a lot of backlash, which wasnt an exception for their newest concept: aespa. This concept was given the name SMCU (SM culture universe) and is actually interesting considering that SM has partnered with marvel before for SuperM, which ties seperate SM groups together even more. Aespa were introduced as a group that would have æs (described as somewhat of virtual counterparts, which i will go into later on) along with this, aespa's whole aesthetic is very futuristic, which suits the theme. Within the concept, a lot of new ideas were introduced, which almost follow the storyline, as if in a series or maybe video game. This includes the fact that when aespa debuted, SM introduced new vocabulary along with the concept, which have been sprinkled into other groups' songs (e.g. 90s love by nct u, which contains the words KWANGYA and KOSMOS), but are heavily featured in aespas two songs 'black mamba' and 'next level'. In the SMCU, it is made clear that two different worlds exist; the real world and the alternative dimensions-- the FLAT and KWANGYA. Basically, the FLAT is where the æs live when they're not in the real world, and KWANGYA is where they're trying to go; where their enemy, the black mamba, lives. æs are alter egos created based on data that humans upload, such as photos on social media. æs are often seen as what humans see to be a 'perfect' version of what they are. As explained in this video, humans whether consciously or subconsciously often depict only the best parts of themselves onto social media, which is why æs can be faster, more attractive, smarter etc, but are still a reflection of who you are in the end. In the somg Black Mamba, Ningning's line "my every action helps you grow" talks about how æs grow stronger/more accurate the more humans upload data online. (I have a class now but i will be back to edit this!!! Im no expert on this by any means, this is just what i remember from not-so extensive research.)

There is a possibility that TaeMin is one of the villain as his hands shows signs of being an evil being in Advice MV. In Next Level MV, there was a part where Karina was standing in place full of colorful snakes. Those snakes are colored in Red Velvet's signature color. Pink for Irene, Yellow Snake for Seulgi, Blue for Wendy, Green for Joy and Purple for Yeri. Red Velvet seems to be aslo evil minions of the BlackMamba.

They might not be the most popular 4th gen group, but they are the most interesting.

As with all the groups under SM Entertainment, their storylines and concepts are all part of SM's Universe, including aespa's storyline. It is even speculated that aespa's story connects to EXO's and SuperM's storylines. I think SM has set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together there are threads of connections between the groups. "aespa 'ep1. Black Mamba' - SM Culture Universe" video is the first episode of aespa's drama and it explains in more detail about aespa's storyline. As with everything that SM does, aespa is much more than just a singing group. They have a whole story that is more like a movie or an epic novel and all their MVs and everything they do is connected. aespa is a four member girl group whose concept revolves around the fact that their name means "avatar experience" and each of the girls has an avatar character -- as you see with their animated characters and scenes -- so they also are superhero-like beings, just like EXO and the members of SuperM. Which makes me pretty confident that SM is working on pulling aespa into SuperM's/EXO's storyline and making them part of the whole group concept, just like all of its third gen groups. And just like EXO, the members of aespa all have their own powers and symbols that represent them: 💓Karina (Yoo JiMin) is the leader of the group, she is a main dancer and lead rapper: her symbol is a heart and her spirit animal is a whale. She is Korean. 🌕Giselle (Uchinaga Aeri) is the main rapper and a vocalist: her symbol is the moon and her spirit animal is a unicorn. She is Japanese. ⭐Winter (Kim MinJeong) is a lead dancer, lead vocalist and the visual of the group: her symbol is a star and her spirit animal is a Siberian Husky dog. The way I see it is there are two dimensions: aespa in the real world and their avatars (Kwangya) world. Aespa are connected to their avatars and everything the aespa members do in real life gives power to their avatars. However, because of the Black Mamba's temptation, aespa and their avatars cannot connect through the SYNK app anymore, so their avatars become lost. So I think in "Next Level" aespa is on a mission to try and stop the Black Mamba hacker and find their avatars in order to re-establish a connection. To understand how all of SM's groups are connected, you first need to keep in mind that it all began with EXO's concept. As you know, EXO are aliens from Planet Exo who have been sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are believed to be caused by the Red Force. The Red Force is thought to be here on Earth inflicting their evil agenda -- corrupting humanity and causing all the bad things that are happening in the world, such as war, hate and destruction of the environment, etc. And because EXO is trying to undo and prevent the Red Force from accomplishing their goals, the Red Force is also trying to take down EXO by capturing them, corrupting them and standing in their way, etc. Some theories even believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline. Some think that Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, could be the Red Force. As you also know, SuperM is the Kpop industry's very first supergroup which debuted in October 2019 and their concept and storyline is centered around the fact that they are Avengers-like superheros, so SuperM is the group that pretty much connects everything together. As part of EXO's story, Baekhyun and Kai -- who are members of EXO -- have recruited members from SM Entertainment's other male Kpop groups -- Taemin from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark from NCT and Ten and Lucas from WayV -- and formed SuperM, to help them battle the Red Force. SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world. It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup. And If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT/WayV -- together. Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. Theories have also speculated that NCT's/WayV's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline. As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams, dreaming or something to do with being in a dream state, which could very easily connect to EXO's other world and other dimension theories. Now, to explain how aespa is connected to the story. aespa debuted in November, so "Next Level" is their second MV. And I think "Next Level" tells aespa's backstory and explains a lot of what we saw happening in their debut MV "Black Mamba." aespa was first introduced to the world in a teaser at the end of SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV last year -- about a week or so before aespa's debut. In the last scene of the "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, we see Taemin with an LG phone and on the phone screen there is a symbol that appears. At the time, when that MV was released, we had no idea what that meant. However, soon after that, we discovered that the symbol you see on Taemin's phone -- ae -- is the logo/symbol for aespa. So, on top of being a teaser for aespa's debut, I think by making aespa a part of SuperM's MV, this was SM's way of establishing aespa's connection to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Will aespa eventually join forces with EXO to defeat evil or will the Black Mamba gain control and cause aespa to team up with (Red Velvet?) and become members of the Red Force? We will just have to wait to see how SM connects the dots and draws the storylines together. But I have a feeling that, eventually, aespa's story will connect to SuperM's story, and, along the way, also EXO, NCT and Red Velvet's storyline, and maybe Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. (Even though SHINee are a second generation group, the members actually fit within the age range of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen.) aespa's story is just another one of SM's epic concepts and mysteries that we will have to wait and see where it takes us.

okay so yall ain't watched much of red velvet (and that's totally fine yall will get to it when u get to it!) BUT when giselle underlined villains and velour and ae-giselle circled and checked it it made me think of them, because velour is a lot like velvet and red velvet is the only group that have anything to do with velvet. the snakes in the next level mv were also in their colors (red velvet have official colors for each member) and there were five snakes in total, for five red velvet members. ALSO red velvet always up to something in their mvs like they be menaces to other people and each other like someone always up to SOMETHING so it makes sense for them to be villanous. i also have this other theory that's a bit more off the rails but after a very free day and my love of searching for lore powering me through, i made up this theory where taemin is also connected in the clone making and the "other selves". in idea he makes some abomination or something and that's why i think they locked his ass up in criminal bc there were all those hanging bodies in the forest in the idea mv and there was that silver figure around him a lot and he seemed to be talking to another version of himself at times, and i can only assume it was evil and got up to some shit bc they locked him up at some point! and in his individual superm teaser he also had some seemingly failed clones that were slumped while he was walking up so what i think happened was that the evil clone got loose or something and is now trying to make more clones or "other selves" but he failed so now he's trying to make more clones out of the superm members and that's why there are two of taeyong in his teaser and why ten seemingly get kidnapped by his own self and all that stuff. (another off the rails theory) there's also all the stuff with exo too and how in obsession there are x-exo, their clones created by the red force (who are their adversaries) who captured them in lucky one and i have this very long explanation on that but basically EYE think that the power mv is their origin story, and they get captured and the lucky one mv happens and then at the end of the power mv when baekhyun falls that shows him somehow being separated from the group and what i think happened is either he gets captured or joins the red force as a double agent of sorts and that's why he saves exo when they are in the back of that van in the monster mv. i do think that his capturing gave them a way to study him and form some sort of blueprint to clone the other members into x-exo but this is all very wild speculation and i would take nothing i just said in this paragraph as Solid Proof but yeah much to think about. i don't have much for nct i'm still trying to figure that out but yeah i think that's all i have for theories and i know this is very convoluted but i hope its at the very least readable lol

Idk if you'll see this cause this was posted a couple days before but imma run you down in case you come back to this. There's specific terminology associated with this universe so I'll explain them to you, so you can follow along better. ae-aespa was created with aespa members data- once they connect through SYNK, ae-aespa share aespa's secrets, thoughts, and emotions; this is because ae-aespa is essentially aespa. My basic understanding is that ae-aespa, and ae in general are real entities, just like digital humans, who are connected to a real human being. ae-aespa live in the FLAT (this explains the beyond FLAT line in the comic version at the end of this video- KWANGYA is beyond their home base of the FLAT that they must travel to) and can cross over to the real world. This crossing over is called REKALL. P.O.S is the portal that ae-aespa go through in order to cross over into the real world (the POS is mentioned in a lyric in the next level song). Naevis is almost like the controller. She opens the portal and can view everything from what we saw (she can also be seen in the music video for next level). In the midst of aespa's and ae-aespa's friendship, their SYNK becomes disconnected. This is because of the Black Mamba- the villain in their story Aespa are now on a journey to reconnect with their ae's. Aespa leave the real world and head into KWANGYA in order to find the Black Mamba - This will be the NEXT LEVEL comeback. The black mamba hacked the professor's ae which explains his disconnection and the shape-shift at the end. The black mamba in technical terms is essentially a virus (but portrayed in a character for the storyline). The reason this is interesting is because of it's connection to the SM universe. Sm stans have been theorizing for a couple of days. I'll share some of the main theories. KWANGYA is thought to be the place NCT is in (It is in the lyrics of 90's love and that explains the description of a "infinite" space since NCT have a limitless concept). Kai is also thought to be in KWANGYA because the MMMH video location (the cowboy outfit scene) resembles the illustration of KWANGYA in the last couple seconds of this episode. SuperM in general are also thought to be in KWANGYA (the ONE- Monster + Infinity music video). So is Irene and Seulgi (the Naughty music video) Theories: Taemin plays a special role (he connected to aespa's universe when he teased them at the end of the ONE music video with the phone). Something interesting with Taemin is that his Want music video had a lot of snakes AND KARINA WAS IN IT. We don't know what part he plays though. Kai's superpower is teleportation so we assume he can teleport through these universes. NCT has a concept of being in a dream and not knowing what is reality and what's fake which we also don't know what that does. WayV are potentially from the future that is in shambles which is why they want to "Turn Back Time" (their previous comeback before kick back). My fave theory is that of the Black Mamba and Naevis. They look like twins. Seulgi and Irene have a twin concept. The electronic sounds at 15:02 in this video match/are really similar to the electronic instrumentals on their song Monster - The black mamba may have formed in this song. Anyways, the theory is Irene is the Black Mamba and Seulgi is Naevis. Nothing is for certain right now cause we're literally trying to piece things together with no actual direction LMAO. To understand the aespa universe alone, you just need the top paragraphs before I started with the theories, but it's just kinda fun when you look at what SM is trying to create with their own universe.

First of all, we must know that the entire SM world is based on EXO. They are the first group with concept, planet and all those things. The entire origin of life of SM beings is explained in the beginning of MAMA, even the flower with the butterfly that also appears in Black Mamba appears. It is the flower from which girls emerge. It is said that the girl at the beginning could be Red Velvet's Seulgi because she is connected to the MV "Monster", where in her live performance, a large black snake appears on the screen. The dimension seen below is the one Kai opens in MMMH trying to find the other EXO members, if you look closely, the atmosphere is the same as Kai's MV. Giselle in the class encloses the word "Velour", it means velvet, which comes from Red Velvet. Above it says villain. The butterfly Ningning draws goes through all of SM's MVs since EXO's MAMA, MAMA is the origin. Karina's part is the most important, it is connected first with the ending of Power of EXO, where Baekhyun falls into the water after creating the eclipse (remember that his superpower is light) to return the powers to the other EXO members. Apparently a portal opens at that moment. He is also connected to Wendy's "Like Water" MV. Later, it is confirmed that Karina is apparently influenced or possessed by the Red Force, perhaps betraying her companions. We know that Aespa girls are born from a bud, from a flower, a flower that appears in EXO's MAMA and a garden where the girls are in Black Mamba. Apparently, the Aespa girls were born in EXO PLANET, which is why their concepts are especially connected. They go through the same story as EXO: they are cloned, influenced by the red force, one member possibly betrays the others.
