When I had to shave my head my family went nuts. My mom thought i had cancer. They all knew my hair was falling out because of my autoimmune disease. I decided to keep this look (8years now)and I actually have family members who won't be seen with me. They said I am seeking attention... Killed this!! 🙌🙌 I've had a shaved head for over a year and grew it out for 4 months (I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding - my decision to grow it) and the night the wedding was done I brought those clippers out and felt so happy and back to myself. I shaved my head about a month ago and right before I did, I found your channel and watched your first video about how you keep up with your hair and then I watched all your other videos, and it was a great example to see a woman who just loves her shaved head and doesn't see it any different then any other way someone were to style their hair. I've shaved my hair once last summer and again a few weeks ago. I have had super short hair for a long time. I love your videos and this one was right on! I constantly get the Amber Rose comparison, and it drives me crazy. She's so beautiful, but I look nothing like her other than the blonde buzz cut! I'm a hair stylist, so I get all the comments! What I really hate hearing is women who tell me "I've always wanted to shave my head, but I couldn't pull it off". It's sad that society has engraved in our heads that we need hair to be beautiful. I feel the most beautiful with really short hair or no hair at all. When I had long hair, I had no confidence. I never dressed daring or wore dramatic makeup. I hid behind my hair and didn't want to bring attention to myself. I never felt like myself until I chopped off my hair. I'm glad there is other women like you who I can relate to!

I didn't do mine for a cause, I only did it because my hair is thinning and I was tired of trying to style it. Right after I shaved it, I did the same thing you mentioned, and I immediately went to KZfaq to find other girls who have also shaved their heads. Not for any kind of reassurance or anything like that, but just to see who else is rocking the look! It has boosted my confidence so much and I look freakin' hot. Joining the lady tribe. Just shaved my head a few days ago and yesterday was my first time debuting it. My fiancé has been so supportive, he’s the one who shaved my head! We got stares everywhere we went yesterday but I realized that we’ve always gotten stares (I’m black and he’s Mexican) so it wasn’t going to be any different than usual. I feel so free. And you’re an inspiration. You’re amazing.

I'm 22 years old, almost 23. I want to shave my head soooo bad. I don't have a job at the moment so I can't get it professionally done. My dad has hair clippers but refuses to let me use them saying he doesn't see a practical reason for me to shave my head or to let me use his clippers, and my mom refuses to help. Mom thinks that me shaving my head will impact my ability to get a job. I believe most employers just want their employees to well groomed. I think shaving your head is about as well groomed as you can get. Parents are supposed to love you and support you unconditionally.

Even with a just a pixie cut, the first question people ask me when my hair is mentioned is "When will you grow it out?" I love my pixie, I can't see myself growing it out anytime soon- I look and feel so much better. But even if I did want to, why do people always feel the need to treat short/shaved hair like a phase, like you're just doing it as a statement or for a cause? You're so right, women need to support each other in being able to express ourselves however we want.

I’ve had a shaved head for about two months now and i was debating it for awhile I was going through depression and was diagnosed with lupus and my hair was falling out and I finally decided to do it after seeing a friend I haven’t seen in awhile with her head shaved after I did it she basically BASHED me and said she was growing her hair out because she hated how many girls are copying her!! Hi Thank you very much for this video I've had a shaved head for 2.5 years now due to trichotillomania It feels empowering sometimes, but I'm mostly insecure about it, I can't grow it back, I've got bald patches, I have to keep them really short so I'm sooooo cold in winter I'm not really a makeup person, and I'm studying so I really don't have much time, I completely relate to the wanting to hide part. Hair for a woman is such a huge thing for society it's incredible I was said recently by someone who only knew me bald, while I was a bit insecure, that I would look great with hair, and even if I wasn't anything now I would reveal myself to the world with it growing (wasn't exactly said like that bc I'm translating but it's basically the thing). I was like "whaaaaaat ???" I'm so not okay with people saying that sort of thing like how could anyone just think that ?? I buzzed my head in November, grew it out and then cut it into a pixie, but will probably go back to the buzz cut eventually. I just graduated with my Masters and wrote about women with buzzed or very short hair. I interviewed 18 women and now I wish I had found you to interview! I loved hearing about your experience! I love having my head shaved for a style like you and ou wear it absolutly stunning! I always am hestitant to re shave it because of society and how much I will get judged for it. I know it doesn't matter what anyone but me thinks. But sometimes you have to brace yourself for the harshness of others. It really is ashame we have to worry about that. Your trying to be you. Your beautiful. Several years ago I wore a pixie hair cut and a man put his hands on my head.....I was alarmed and extremely offended. Touching a woman that you DON'T know is the absolutely un acceptable. I just cut my hair to a TWA and its inspired me to take better care of my body and I definitely wear makeup every day and I LOVE it. Your Great.

My mom is a nurse and works in the cancer ward and I go up to visit them and after getting to know them, I wanted to show them that they are not alone. So when I told my friends and family what I'm doing, they reacted fairly well. They all support my decision. Especially my respecting boyfriend. And I'm sixteen, turning seventeen in a few months.

Thank you for this video (al of your video’s) I just needed that. Three days ago I shaved my head short, not bald. Two days ago I thought ‘It’s not perfect, I think on top of my head I need to shave a little peace off.’ I grabed the shaver, checked two times the millimeters and ‘hoppa’. In the middel of my head, from the back to the front, there was a ‘landing strip’. Bold. Forgot the guard. After staring to myself for 5 minutes and ask myself ‘what to do what to do’ I shaved it all. It felt weird. I felt liberated, but also sad and insecure. What will people think about me. I went in 3 months 3 times to the hairdresser to cut my hear short. It wasn’t exactly what I was looking for and shaving my head was my first intention. But the people around me incl the hairdresser made me cut it different. So, I was happy after shaving my head, short. But now,.. it’s bald. Forget the guard bald. Mental breakdown bald, for a lot of people. The first I did was running to a heardresser to buy a wig. But it’s not feelings comfy, and I know I do it because of ‘what people think’. So I went on the internet looking for bad bald ass women and find you. Thank you. Feel a little bit better and hope my head wil look more like your ‘lenght’ (haha) after a few weeks.

I personally don't mind when people touch my hair BUT they have to ask me fisrt because it's really annoying when they touch it without asking AND they touch the wrong way too but it's whatever i just smile and let it go i don't really like to cause a scene over something that to me is so small. Love your hair btw, i shaved my sides once for a personal reason and i loved it but i wouldn't do it again.

I've had a buzz for over three years now. I really only get comments from older folk. Mine is also bleached. I hate how people think it's ok or their business to even ask!? I mean friends and family are going to be curious but complete strangers!? That's where I get annoyed. And I would NEVER let a stranger touch my head get OFF!

I am 13 years old and I have decided that I want to shave off all 18 inches of my curly hair and donate it to Wigs For Kids. Your channel has helped me to accept myself and do what I want to do and not worry about other people’s opinions.
