I'm completely new to Affinity Photo after getting fed up with how feature lacking the PS iPad app is compared to the desktop version. I like this idea of teaching with a project. It is a little more advanced then a normal "beginner" lesson. I had to stop it many times because I would miss what you selected. When you brought in the logo, I could only watch. I don't have anything like that to import. Good lesson overall.

Just making sure but for Affinity it’s a one-time purchase forever right? Subscription services feel like such a ripoff unless you actually make a living via photography.

Excellent tutorial! I'm just getting started after using Canva for most of my needs. I'm excited about the possibilities and this video helped me understand how to do a lot of really excellent effects. As mentioned by others, the chapter delineation was very helpful. Nice video. Looking for how to get my canvas to rotate though. Seems like a simple thing and have had to look all over the place. No worries--Navigator tool, I NOW know. I am coming from the Illustrator and looking for something that will highlight the texture of my artwork and not make it look weird and lock up all the time the way Adobe Illustrator does. This is a REALLY nice video for someone who needs to work on photographs though.

Hi, thank you for this awesome video. Besides, I also wonder what are the differences between affinity photo on ipad and on MacOs. Because both version are paid separately and I dont know which version should I buy and there is no video out there can provide anything about this topic. While the ipad version utilizes power of the apple pencil, I am not sure about the Mac version. I hope you can help me answer this question.

I differ from u as I loved PS on iPad but they screwed the user by changing my one off payment for the app to we got rid of it unless you pay monthly…… so ive hated them ever since. Then I found Affinity App and they said I could pay a 1 off $79 and I was sold. But there is so much that I gave up, but am now ready to find someone to help me navigate the App

Thank you so much, I just subscribed. But I did get stuck. At around 11’ mark after you finish the pen selection you open a new fill layer. Your whole screen switches to the color and change it to black. My problem is after I do fill layer I see nothing. I don't get a black box next too the layer selector. Clicking curve layer then selection does nothing. What am I doing wrong? There seems to be fill in the bottom context bar but it's confusing. Thanks.

I love your tutorial, but english is my 2nd language and your accent sounds like it’s from limmy’s show it’s understandable however, there are some words that I can’t understand so im listening to the video very carefully…

Having just started working with Affinity Photo for my iPad I found your video less than helpful as you didn’t explain how to do basic tasks such as closing windows that opened up, finding the properties of photos such as picture sizes etc. When working with Photoshop on my PC I would just right click on the file to find that info but when using an iPad many things are different. When I saw that your video was a “beginners tutorial” I was expecting these basics tasks to be addressed. I do however like your teaching style, I just thought the content to be a little too advanced for a beginner as these basic tasks were not addressed.

To those who upgraded to affinity 2.0 and can’t figure out how to import a document from iOS photos app, LONG PRESS THE NEW ICON.

I had a 10th gen iPad kzfaq.infoUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . Felt it getting pretty slow at times even after doing a reset. So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.

I’m sorry, I know you tried your best on this tutorial, but not makes sense at all. This doesn’t help a beginner. Why can’t you just open or import a photo and start edeting instead of playing around with resizing or whatever you did there. Watching your compare to others look like your video is for the “veteran expert” tutorial. Sorry I have to bring this up cause I never seen a super complicated video on how how to to just open a photo for editing. Affinity photo workflow is already a mess and video just made it worst.
