I have one of their aluminum seatposts. Excellent value, a bit fiddly to set up, but no big deal.

Yep, my experience as well. The fiddly-ness is a bit annoying, but saddle angle and position is not something you're frequently fixing - a bit more set it and forget it - so not a huge issue. A more sophisticated cradle would be a welcome development from them, though.

Cool stuff. One tip I’ve found when adjusting/ torquing the seat rail bolts is to make the harder to torque bolt your adjustment bolt and the easier bolt as your torquing bolt. Theoretically you only need to torque one of the two bolts. Helps to have a ball head Allen for the adjustment, just don’t use it for the torquing.

Yeah, that's a great idea. I sort of went with that method when I installed the other post on my hardtail. Hopefully Woodman refines their cradle a bit to avoid this issue though!

I'm kind of a beginner at this (cyclist for years but in the old days of rim brakes, quick release, etc) but I love that gold color. Just bought a Giant Revolt 2 (aluminum frame) and I need a zero setback seatpost I think (as opposed to the stock one which has about 1 inch of setback) so I'm thinking about one of these seatposts (probably aluminum, I am not a weight weenie yet 🤣 ). I'm curious about that headtube expander thingy. I really just want that gold topcap. Can I just buy the topcap or is the expander easy to install? My bike has a carbon fork but I don't understand which part I might be replacing. Also, as you noted in your video, I have a bunch of stem expander rings sitting on top of head tube, so maybe the dimensions are off... Anyway, I really only care about that top cap... Hope that makes some sense. Thanks for this very useful video...

"Strong, light, cheap: pick two." Keith Bontrager. ... there are rare exceptions. (Uno stem comes to mind) Regarding getting a torque wrench on the front seatpost bolt: Could you have slid the round carrier tube (that passes through the post) forward a little to buy yourself some extra space or is it fixed in place? You mention that it has some compliance, does it have more or less than the lighter one on your Blur? I'd be interested in a bit of compliance instead of the stiff Thomson on my hardtail. Lastly, I stumbled across your KZfaq channel and have been enjoying catching up. Keep up the good work. Oh, and you sound a lot like Phil Gaimon :)

Haha thanks for the detailed comment! Let me respond to everything: 1. Yeah Bontrager was definitely ahead of his time. I really love that era of bike components - it felt like people and companies were willing to gamble on big ideas more. 2. The little carrier tube doesn't have much play, so it is difficult to really slide it forward. I tried sliding it forward, torquing, and then sliding back, but it wouldn't slide back freely. 3. I would say that the one on my Highball (I wish I had a Blur though) is a bit more compliant, but there is also more seatpost exposed since the shape of the frame is different. They are both really comfortable though, 100% recommend. I've been considering one of the ultra light ones like MCFK or Darimo, but those are so expensive. 4. Thank you so much for the kind comment! 5. I had never heard that, haha. I'm gonna go watch a Gaimon video to compare. I definitely don't ride like him though lol.

There are plenty of great options for seatposts - I'd look at Kalloy if you want something basic and bombproof. Mt. Zoom makes some good lightweight ones at a more affordable price too. Otherwise, don't hesitate to buy used - there are some great options out there.
