I agree it's a great design and material but it Needs a clip. Adult men wear shirts that have a pocket on the left. If it's got no clip,, I can't do it. I don't live my life in ball shorts and t-shirts like a 10 year old. Pens get clips we've done this for hundreds of years
@benwalsh9257

Adult men don’t wear shirts all the time, in-fact modern shirts have no pockets these days unless there’s a specific need for one. I did a survey 3 years ago across 2000 pen users ranging from age 18 - 65 both men and women. One of the questions was, would a pen not having a clip be a make or break reason that you wouldn’t buy a pen. The results were a little over 5% said they needed a clip for them to buy it. Real adult men don’t conform to the idea you must wear a shirt to be an adult, real men don’t give a shit and wear what’s comfortable, real men wouldn’t care if someone wore a shirt or not. One last thing, when I was a kid, a family friend was in a car crash, he had a Parker pen in his shirt pocket, the crash shot the pen through his eye and killed him…. If only he didn’t have a shirt pocket, Jimmy would still be with us. They’re a hazard really.

I once saw someone suggest using the white teflon tapes for plumbing to convert your fountain pens to eyedroppers if you dislike the mess of using silicone grease. I've tested it myself on a platinum meteor and a pilot petit1 and it worked for both. Just another option
@sailcat9
@sailcat9 10 ай бұрын
That's an interesting idea. I have a couple of pens I would like to eyedropper but I am really careful about that sort of thing if a pen doesn't have built-in precautions like O-rings, but Teflon tape might just do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion!
@Doodlebud
@Doodlebud 10 ай бұрын
Yup that works for sure. Coming from an engineers view however, it makes my eye twitch 😖. There's always a way to make it work, then there's the proper way. I was meticulous in my engineering work about ensuring every single component and assembly procedure was done 100% correctly. I would probably pass out after wrapping Teflon tape on the threads of this pen when I know there should be an o-ring seated just so, in a perfectly profiled grove that retains it so it doesn't come out, but also provides the perfect amount of tactile friction feedback to the user when the barrel is snugged down. Im sure if they ever do that adjustment in future models, that oring will be sitting in there bang on! 😆

I first learned about them in an Inky rock video I think. They were kind of known for their 925 silver nib they made in house I think, also a lot of urushi stuff using 3776 nibs/ the silver nib (I think there also used to be some build with Omas nibs). But the urushi ones tend to sell out super quick. Their instagram seems to be a good place to follow their new releases. I remember seeing their urushi pens in size comparison and they are huge, really long section.

Ever since I saw this video I wanted one, but of course I was late to the party. Here it's now the end of Oct. going into Nov. and still no restock!! Then I saw Inkquiring Minds PEEK-TO-PEEK video where he compared the Eureka to the Schon DSGN. After seeing Dougs video, and losing patience with Eureka, I've taken the plunge and ordered the Schon DSGN "full-sized" engineered plastic pen in PEEK. Yeah, it's quit a bit more, but it does have what would seem to be better design choices.

Hi, I debate whether getting a gravitas sentry or the PEEK Symetry. I usually need a fine or extra fine nib for m small handwriting to be legible. A Aion XF is finer than needed, a leonardo momento zero steel fine is perfect, Iridium point Germany no nib size given is good, too. Lamy M is way to broad, Lamy fine is ok. Where would you put the Symmetry Medium and the gravitas fine in this Continuum? Thanks alot.
@Doodlebud
@Doodlebud 8 ай бұрын
I compared a whole bunch of nib sizes in this video to help people with your same question. The Symmetry takes a Bock nib and currently comes in a medium, so it writes the same as any other Bock medium. The Gravitas uses a JoWo compatible nib and falls in line with other western fine size nibs (Jowo, Bock, Schmidt, etc) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o8eEadR_r7nahqc.html

The super grip has ridges along the grip section to increase the grip even more. I didn't have any grip issues with my regular one. The PEEK material is feels good in the hand. But for folks who like a better grip, the super grip is a good option.

I know that the latter has been a big issue with Indian manufacturing, although it does seem that there are several manufacturers in India getting well past $100 for their pens. @@Doodlebud I just have to figure if they have a mechanism in place to let us know when they have inventory ready to sell. Others do an email list. Some do a newsletter. I will check the site to see what they do.
