Amiri, who is their most experienced player could not even continue in the ISL even though he has played for many Indian clubs in the last decade or so. They are competitive yes but that doesn't make them a good football playing country. Not even India is a good football playing country. We are just more competent than Afghanistan in terms of talent or ranking.

And in forward we have 4 attacker with no ball supply. Igor always go for wings never central channel so called fake possession based football. Afganistan coach analysed his tacticts. He just blocked wing backs and game over. We didn't put any player for central channel and play making. Igor don't know players playing style. He treating Indian team coaching job as government job. I am following him from 2019 and i know his history. He is more corrupt than praful patel.

because its their lowest point, i think in the last 10-15 years(of which most of the time spent bottom of the rankings). even if they start investing heavily and training a new set of players now to replace ageing Chhetri & co., in the most optimistic case itll take 5 years to see these young grassroots players even come up to the level of the old team the federation had years to move the ISL forward and skim the new top talent into the national team. subpar stadiums, poor broadcast quality, boring commentators on top of poor performance=no public interest. not to mention the lacking training infrastructure. mismanagement and corruption drove everything into the ground. there is not even a financial incentive to invest into football as the public interest in club/national football is barely growing-you need to have a good team to pack stadiums and sell jerseys. FFS there is a big football culture in some parts of the country but no real investment from the top. the dream of indian national football is over.

Agree! And there is no shortage of Strikers/Players in India. But Igor don't trust them and keep saying it is part of process. Yes agree he changed us to possession game, but we need to move on. Half of the players currently do not have that skills to leap to the next level. So it is important to bring new faces asap.
