Installed a AFR Gauge On This Genesis Coupe 3.8 The process is the same for the Genesis Coupe 2.0t as well. Takes less than 2 hours to install Gauge used was Evo Prosport

So the “add a fuse” cable is the the 5A fuse some gauges require? If so, would you still tap into that accessory fuse with the “add a fuse” cable?
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
The purpose of the add a fuse is to clean up the wiring and provide its own fuse. It’s basically a jumper. It’s not 100% needed clearly but it definitely cleans up the job more and provides extra protection

I’m order to install the oil temp gauge for the 2.0t, do you have to weld on the bung just like the afr? Or will it go on the sand which adapter ? Gauge brand is evo sport
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
Oil temp gauge you need a sandwich plate

if i dont have the equipment to solder wires, what would be an alternative to hooking up the guage to a ground source?
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
Use heat shrink solder.

I just installed j2 headers catless on my 3.8 bk2 I was wondering if I could just take off my stock 02 sensor and just put the 02 sensor that the gauge comes with their instead of welding a bung on
@isteventejada6 ай бұрын
I have the same headers right now. I saw him reply to someone else saying he replaces the stock O2 cuz Alphaspeed tunes out that sensor anyway.

Do you know if there's any way to put this and maybe and e85 gauge to replace say the oem gas mileage gauge and torque gauge

On dmz website they sell the snoopy pod kit. You’ll need that to put them in the stock location

A question i have yet to see answered everywhere i look for afr and genesis coupe 3.8 installs is. Do I need to weld a new bung onto my downpipe or do i simply replace the stock O2 sensor thats in there with this one?
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
That’s up to you. All I do is take the secondary O2 sensor out since it’s basically useless for my customer and alphaspeed tunes that sensor off. Now if you keep your stock cats and want to put a afr sensor on then you’ll more than likely have to add another bung for that afr sensor on your downpipe

@@ProdigePerformance perfect man thank you for this simple answer lol, ive dug through the forums and fb groups and never got a solid answer until now :)

Hi, just wondering if this would be the same for a bk1 2.0t and I would also be able to replace the secondary O2 sensor. Thanks

I just installed mine and I’m reading around 15.3 idle how do I fix this problem and get it down to the 14.7 range

You either have a exhaust leak or fueling issue

Where can I go from if the grommet hole toy went through is full? Went to install it today and literally couldn’t get passed step one cause my shits full
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
Drill a hole right next to it: you’ll notice a patch that can be removed You’ll want to use a 1 inch paddle bit and order 1 inch grommets

How did you manage to get your AFR wire through the firewall hole? I’m using AEM and the head that attaches to the gauge won’t fit through.
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
You push through the the side that connects to the box from the outside. Not reverse
@Anye122 жыл бұрын
@@ProdigePerformance how would that make a difference the hole is the same size on both ends correct? the wire is in my engine bay already already plugged into the bung I’m talking about the head that goes into the gauge. The head piece is too wide I’m trying to figure out if AEMs piece is just bigger or if I must be doing something wrong.
@Anye122 жыл бұрын
More info on this on AEM there is no box the wires connect straight to the gauge
@ProdigePerformance2 жыл бұрын
@@Anye12 that’s right it’s all 1 piece I forgot. So you need to angle the harness pigtail sideways to slide it through It will not fit in longways. Needs to be sideways

So if I were to put a fuse tap in that location you put the wiring into what amp fuses would I need to put into the fuse tap?

Look up add a circuit mini Use that. Way more easier You’ll need 2 fuses for it to work.

What type of AFR gauges kit was that ? Curious

Older evo pro sports gauge kit. I prefer the newer ones. I actually sell them and sell VLS gauges. VLS being my favorite go to gauge
