Africa Twin and Benelli 502X Take on a Hill Climb

We head out on a sunny February day ride in Capital Forest. Taking on the muddy mess of a hill climb, and learning along the way (wait no just getting tired, thats all). There ain't a hell of a lot of a point to this one, just some good ol' fashioned riding. Working on the mic situation again, until then you get a bit of wind noise and music!

At first i thought. Man climb it, you have a powerbike and then i saw how steep it was haha. Love the AT, i have a DCT from 2017

Thank you! I learned long ago to wait on a climb to ensure the first rider makes it. Otherwise you fail and its a short guy with little leg's fault!

⁠ Amongst other bikes, I own a fully farkled 18 Africa Twin DCT; just about everything that warranted attention has been upgraded. At 71 years old (still do off tarmac but very little single track) I’m torn between keeping it or selling a couple of bikes to snag the new 2024 model with the 19” front wheel. My question is, how much better is the ‘24 than a much loved and fully farkled ‘18?

Like a quad with two wheels…. Common physics says there’s not enough rubber to push 500 lbs, up hills like that

Why not? My DCT is brilliant off road. Once you learn to use the rear brake in place of the clutch its just as capable if nit more so than a manual clutch.
