1. ANTEMORO TRIBAL VILLAGE: Zebu
ADDRESS: Lokomby, Madagascar
Our last stop on our 10-day tour of Madagascar brought us to a small village on the southeast coast. We spent the day with a local tribe, Antemoro and participated in a rare ritual, a ritual that the village hadn’t experienced in 5 years. Zebus are the most prized livestock in Madagascar, brought to the island 1,000 years ago from east Africa. As part of the zebu ritual, the entire village comes together, give thanks to the zebu before sacrificing it and feeding 100+ people. The fat hump is the most prized part of the zebu.

I’m vegetarian; I have a problem with factory farming, not people hunting or sacrificing a few animals intermittently to feed their families/communities. I appreciate you showing the culture of these people and their sense of community. Food really does bring people together 💕

This one was hard to watch, and still incredibly eye opening, interesting, and somehow beautiful at the same time. We are lucky enough to see a tradition that has spanned generations. There is so much respect from the Malagasy people to the animal. And respect from Sonny to the people, that couldn't have been easy to see first hand. Much love.

Yes I agree, it's sad to see the zebu killed, however you can see how respectful these people are of the sacrifice of the animal to feed the community with prayer and silence, that is more than you would see for any animal killed in a Western abattoir.

That because the zebu, is eaten only in special occasions and treated sacred respect, while in the west there is no such things attach to it, to them is food and nothing more. Maybe at one time they did what this local did when eating certain animals, but today no such luck.

Because a lot of Hindus (not all of them) dislike/disparage The video because it shows the killing and consumption of a cow. Similarly, a lot of Muslims (not all of them) do the same thing if a video shows the killing/consumption of a pig. Analogously, a lot of Westerners (not all of them) do the same if a video shows the killing/consumption of a dog😕. Life would be much easier and the world would be a much better place if everyone respected others culture/belief.

@@moho2536 respect the cultures that murder DOGS? cows and pigs were designed to be eaten. they were domesticated and then bred for centuries for consumption. dogs on the other hand were bred for centuries to be companions. their DNA is literally designed to search for human connection and be loyal. to kill a dog is to betray their whole nature. theyre also smarter than cows and pigs. its not comparable and not every culture is good. some cultures marry off children to grown men, is that okay?

@@aleclorian7329 "cows and pigs were designed to be eaten." That is your mistaken assumption. Especially cows are never meant to be slaughtered. Products from the cow like milk are useful to man, and it does not mean that one can kill a cow once she stops giving milk. The act is sinful and the reactions one has to face for killing a cow are extremely miserable. The results may not be apparent in this lifetime, but they will come after the end of this lifetime. One can only wait and watch.

Watch a video dates back a few years ago. Sonny got a contract of a TV show but the TV interfered too much about the show (of how it was supposed to be done). So Sonny decided to tear down the contract, paid cancellation sum and go on with his own channel here. I say respect to Sonny for standing up for his idea.
