The Government of India requested UK to stop the aid as India don't require it. This Government to Government aid was then stopped in 2015 by UK, but UK continued to send money for lobbying in India. So don't get confused if you hear from some media outlet that India recieves aid from UK because it is not actually aid but money given to NGOs and businesses for lobbying for UK in India.

India has not officially changed it's name to Bhaarat. We have been using both names from the beginning. Both the names have its origin in India. Indian Constituion begins with "India that is Bhaarat.." Actually we Indians internally often use Bharat, our local languages, classic literatures, in all one sees mostly the name Bhaarat. India too is an indian original name, as the Indian civilization sprawled on Indus River bank. Bhaarat hails from an ancient legendary Indian emperor Bharat and his empire was called Bhaarat. So for us indians both the names India & Bharat are on equal par. For us Indians it doesn't make any differece. For the foreigners India is more known. We indians too use the name India in the international arena. In brief, the name India is used more externally and Bhaarat , internally. That's all. So u r free to continue to use India, no need to change to Bhaarat if u r not used to.

The damage to colonized regions was incalculable, even if Americans return entire modern day America to native people it won't settle. It is a Remainer for ever. Why they colonized? is Shashi going after the Uzbeks or Kazaks for the Mughal invasion. The Mughals slaughtered entire Cities in India and carried off everything of value including slaves. Some stayed and for the first 150 years of their rule treated the Indian people as slaves. India was a conquered Kingdom. Using Shashi's simple minded justification - and the man has clearly demonstrated that he knows nothing of history - then Italy owes most of Europe, North Africa, Greece, and Asia minor for the conquest and the colonialism of the Romans. Mongolia owes all of Asia, the middle east, China and Eastern europe for their conquest and colonialism. Why does Cambridge attract these cry babies claiming to be historians! Every country in the World owes someone something for their conquest and colonisation - grow-up, get over, and get on with your live - do something useful. What matters now is how nations behave today and how they treat their own people and other nations and Britain is one of the good guys on the world stage. India owes Britain reparations for the multi-trillion $ nation that Britain cemented together for India, built their infrastructure, universities, military, and established a working democracy. On balance I believe India came out on top
