Love Santana and your reaction to him!👏🙌🎉🪅🎊. I had the pleasure of seeing a young Carlos Santana playing in San Francisco in 1969 two years after they broke out playing at Woodstock in 1967. High energy and stellar musicianship! I highly recommend you checking out the live version of Santana and Rob Thomas performing So Smooth! The official video is great but the live performance is next level👏🙌💯

Hie Kings and Queens, thanks for watching! Here is a fun fact about Santana. Another reason he is so successful and relevant up till now is, Santana sold his name to a shoe company. The company designs and manufacture shoes and sells them, the credit of the design of the shoes and everything else goes to Santana and yet we all know Santana is not in some warehouse making those shoes. BUT!!! It is good business either way.

Very nice reaction. Shawn, Carlos music has very little to do with Mexican music. When he was still a teen he moved to San Francisco, where he was exposed to Afro-Cuban music, Latin Jazz, styles more related to Central America. He mixed that music with the blues, rock and bit of jazz. Very nice to see you recognize the very beautiful melody of Milton Nascimento’s “Ponta de Areia”! Carlos used the melody as a outro to Europa for decades. Peace!

Dude, you need to learn more about Mexican music. There are various genres, and Afro Cuban music style is played through out Latin America with each country adding their own touch.

I disagree. His music has ranged from rock (Open Invitation) to funk (Move On) to fusion (Caravansarai album) to pop (Winning).

I feel you are confusing the fact that he has a distinct sound with homogeneity of his sound. He has very varied content despite this. Just happens to be one of those artistes your 👂 can easily pick out.
