Sumalia Ndewura Jakpa, (flourished 17th century), African king who founded a dynasty in Gonja, in what is now northern Ghana, in the early 17th century.
Originally a Mande invader, Jakpa established a loosely knit federation of states that extended over the entire northern part of present-day Ghana and parts of Togo and Benin. Jakpa’s invasion of Ghana was probably the result of a dispute within an Islāmic force (of which he himself was part) then attempting to convert nations in what are now Mali and Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta).

Yes they did because in dagomba traditions they talk of cursing an asante king for taking gonja property but also thanking them for securing the region and making it peaceful

I read in history that some Mande Jews who were influenced by the Arabs migrated to Ghana and some migrated to Nigeria during the Babylonian and Assyrian wars when the Israelites migrated to West Africa. I strongly believe the Gonja Guans who migrated from Mande (Mali) to Ghana were those Israelites. I'm from a Gonja traditional clan and I can see that the Gonja traditions are same as that of the Torah. Circumcision of male sons, marriages to 2nd cousins, women who are in their mensuration not allowed to cook for men or sleep with men etc. And most of Gonja indigenous names like Moshie, Jacoba, Dinah, Martha, zekariah, Adama etc are Hebrew names. But because of converting into Islam, most of them are now using Moslem names. And I think all the Guans are Israelites as well and may have migrated from Mali too but they're always saying Guans migrated from Moshie region. How can that be? Even the Moshies originated from somewhere to where they are now. So my Guan brothers and sisters, we are God's chosen people. But the larger tribes in Ghana and Nigeria are claiming to be the Jews of West Africa.

Gonja indigenous names: Moshe (Moses), Jakoba (Jacob), Deena (Dinah), Maata (Martha), Zekariah (Zachariah), Adama (Adam) , Abramani or Bromah (Abraham) etc.

Yes brother I found the same thing. They picked our traditions and culture and story and use it for all religions. We are the chosen people that they all speak of. Do you live in Gonjaland?

hmm, is it the isreal of the bible? please what evidence aside the names can you point to. heard the guans also are related to the isrealites and some other ethnic groups. but no historian or archeologist ha acknowledged this facts. besides the isrealites were more like arabians, i mean phenotypical features. white skin,slender nose etc

@@broniabdul-razak110 Read the old testament/Torah and you will see the Afrikan practices and traditions in there. Also there are some other books (for example ' From Babylon to Timbuktu' telling about the "Jews" in Timbuktu-Mali Empire) with some historical sources talking about black Israelites. But you have to know that we are not "Jews". It is just that they got the stories of the Bible from us and changed it around. There is knowledge in there that we've had for forever. We are way more than that. We built up ancient Egypt and all knowledge was with us first. We are the chosen people because of our DNA. We turn back to our ancestors to show us the way back to the glory that we were made to live with.

am a Gonja and the age of Ndewura Jakpa is not reliable informed. and there were already indig. Gonja's before he arrived.

That's not true my brother. There's no Gonja without Nde wura Jakpa. He led the Gonjas to Ghana. The narrator could be wrong with his age but the history is right.

Conquered all the Northern Region and not the Upper Region or else he would there not tried Nab Ayieta Azantilow the Bulsa King. Asantes were not a match to the Bulsas that is why they didn't attempt to come all the way up. etc...
@inno3912
@inno3912 Жыл бұрын
But who knows about the Builsa people and Azantilow? Jakpa was conquering good areas that he wanted to settle. He didn't want the Gonjas to live in upper East region, that's why he didn't go there. However, the Builsas were taken as Gonja slaves. and most of you sold out.
@inno3912
@inno3912 Жыл бұрын
Even in that century, there was no Builsa in Ghana, neither did Azantilo's great grandfather was born. So are you not stupid to think Azantilo who was born in the 19th century could fight the Gonjas and Ashantis in thousands of years ago?
