The parents were basically suing OP for money and OP just used the term alimony. Stop being b*tches
@abbywheeler90254 ай бұрын
It's a real thing. There's a concept of a "maintenance obligation," but alimony for parents can only be granted in extreme situations according to the source I found. Basically the parent has to be in extreme poverty to the point their basic needs can't be met, and they have to be physically incapable of earning additional income. At least as far as my 30 seconds of research could find.

Not sure about alimony, but there's a thing similar to it called filial support law that requires adult children to support their poverty-stricken parents, and OP mentions Germany which is one of the countries that has such laws

I don't think this takes place in America so maybe the rules are different elsewhere, but according to Mass.Gov, alimony is defined as "court-ordered support paid by one spouse to the other for a period of time after a divorce." Alimony is only related to divorcing couples. Parents can not get alimony from their children, so of course an alimony case against the adult child is not going to go anywhere.

Room being stripped to bare bones... scars from abuse- physical and mental. And the last reminder is the exact same disease that preceeded her abuse getting worse when I'd just gotten away from all of that, therapy and all. For almost a year after the diagnosis, living in a toxic situation with a mentally ill friend, and at the mercy of her father was better than asking that woman for anything... but I had to because of a family history component that played into the disease. What's weird.... it almost feels like getting the chronic illness diagnosis was what it took for her to see me and treat me like an actual person... She left more mental scars, and most of the physical abuse healed... the neglect has had longer lasting signs that I’m still struggling with. The medications I was on for most of my childhood were what //she// wanted them to be, and as a nurss... she pulled a lot of sh.t... but any evidence has either been attributed to someone else, deemed "unsubstantiated" by CPS/DCF, is "excusable", or comes down to an "I said-she said" situation. The paper trail backs her, as does her track record, compared to my dad- and that's the only reason she'd been able to keep custody and control of me for so long. If I may make a suggestion, you say you often work in other countries. For the sake of a new start you might want to sell ur rental properties and see about moving to one of the countries you work in.

Uh, I didn’t quite hear what machine she was talking about, sounded like she said an Ironing machine, also known as an Iron and everyone should have one of those, need to keep formal clothes spiffy for formalities. Same with everyone should know how to cook.

But they can also be used as a weapon in a pinch. Assuming that this is true, that could have happened to OP in story one.

Fake story as it could be - I'm from Poland and no - you cannot just break in and claim home, flat or whatever. Second thing - getting entire building with flats wtc - it is cost of milions - so no, dancing in clubs won't make it. Third thing - Dunno where this story teller obtained title of nurse - but it is not "online school" in Poland, so it is - if I remember correctly - something like 5-6 years of hard learning for the degree (my friend's mom is nurse). Alimony is possible, true, but not in that case. Also in Poland you cannot abandon ur children etc until they are at least 18, and all under 18 have to go to school or their parents would face prison time.

I notice a connection between abusive and shitty parents a decent amount of them are religious and weirdly enough for some reason that seems to result in them being entitled

1st story. You take that hate, and your past, and you morn for everything you went through past til now, you take it and go somewhere secluded no one around and scream and scream til you're ok, and eventually release it, give it to the Lord. I hope you have a good relationship with him. Your family is evil, and I am so sorry you went through that, but if you understand what I am saying it will slowly drift away, allowing Jesus to help heal you inside and out. Take those scars as battle wounds, cause you fought and clawed your way out of their clutches, and beat them. I would of loved your dad to go to prison first, what they did to you I hope she gets a small taste and maybe she'll regret what they did. God bless.
