Chasing an achievement is what showed us that there was absolutely no toxicity between these gamers. If people came together and worked together to chase down an achievement as great as this one, the majority of all gaming communities would feel amazing to be around. These guys all welcomed each other to succeeding, they congratulated each other, cheered each other on and hyped up one of the greatest things to ever happen. Passion on a level that cannot be touched. Perhaps I am not interested to play these games at all, and that’s ok! But, I am appreciative of the level of positivity these lads displayed for us, and I really enjoy seeing others succeed, that, I am thankful for. We need more personalities like this everywhere. The kind of people who celebrate success together on a competitive level.

It seems kind of like when you are immersed in a language from birth, getting fluent in it is effortless because your brain is just living it and growing around it. Kids these days are born into technology-rich settings where getting as good as you can at a video game as a hobby is no longer seen as a "waste of time" because even some older folks know what e-sports are. At the end of the day, these kinds of competitions are primarily about personal improvement, rather than direct competition. The only way to get good at this kind of thing is to set your number one opponent as YOURSELF. You see this in traditional sports at the highest level as well, like running and swimming. There's a famous video of someone who just set a world record in swimming look up at the board, see that the swimmer in the lane next to him set a personal best, and celebrated their improvement as well.

Im not on my friends level, but I still remember how I felt when beating my Wolverine game on my PS3. It was insane. @@nightxrage2957 I think the first part of your message is pretty useless. I did not need to be reminded people have different interests. It's obvious and I did not say that everyone should think the same way I do. I just talked about myself personally and I am fine even if most other people don't feel the same. Anyways what I was arguing is that speed running this game does not provide with anything concrete or positive that I personally know of. So yeah, same goes for watching football, it's not that I find that any better than this Tetris thing. But at least there is a difference with football cause if you practice it then you actually improve physically in ways that are measurable. Your body does change in a positive way. It's not the same for Tetris, where playing or watching is pretty much the same level of usefulness, which is low imho.

You have to watch the Tetris documentary movie that just came out. It made me fall in love with my favorite game even more. ❤️👍

i agree, i knew basically nothing on this topic but i found this video very interesting and i have a whole new respect for the Tetris community. Love how non-toxic this gaming community seems to be aswell, cheering each other on instead of doing the opposite

Fractal's reaction to bluescuti's crash was actually so heart warming. I didnt expect him to be excited

my guess is that every speedrunner knows that what they do is due to the collective effort/knowledge of their community. Like when one speedrunner figures out a trick, they freely explain it to everyone else.
