As a denimhead, a true tried and tested denim head you will know this scenario. You are walking down the street and you get a whiff of something... then you are in a cafe... you get that same whiff... You check your shoes, clean. You give a dirty look to the guy next to you and move tables... but the smell remains. Slowly, surely to dawns on you that YOU are the smell. The pack of wild dogs that have been shadowing you for the past week also agree, it's you, buddy!
This means your raw denim jeans (or in this case, my jacket) need a wash.

Hello! Love the video. Did your jacket shrink after the wash? Some raw denim people I have seen say to pull and stretch out the legs of your jeans while they are still wet in order to retain the length. Is that something you would recommend? Follow up, do you think you could do the same for the sleeves of the jacket while it’s still wet?

2 things about the collar: 1. You could use a brush to pre clean the area before washing, or to wash the dirty collar area by itself. 2. Long term you could put a lining fabric on the collar

I never use a drier on mine. I hang it up to dry on a hanger in the shower. While it's drying i shape it to get wrinkles out. You can even be more extra and put it on while it's wet and do some stretches. It's cold as shit but you keep the wrinkles you want and avoid those you don't. Take it off and hang up or if it's a hot day leave it on and let it dry on you.

Funny as hell! I used to have a black jean jacket but I want a blue jean jacket now. I just learned of type I and II jackets and would love to find one as I like the straighter look than the angled seams on the type III trucker jacket. I try to wash jackets twice a year, what do you recommend for jeans? I've heard some say after 10 wears; I like dark denim over faded.

Pro tip do not hang your denim in direct sunlight… you can hand wash that jacket very easily. A mild amount of soap and a couple of rinses. Try using hair shampoo on the collar and lightly scrub. Hair shampoo is designed to be mild yet remove oils.

I just bought a used Bravestar 18oz slubby type 3 jacket online. Looks brand new. No fading, nothing. The problem…the guy washed it in laundry detergent before he sent it to me. The jacket stinks to high heaven from that laundry detergent perfume. I think he used too much too. The smell is so strong. I had no choice but to wash it once. The smell is still there. I looked online and people said to wash it in vinegar to get most of that smell off. (Some said to wash it in baking soda. I’m gonna have to wash it again…maybe soak it in vinegar first this time. I bought another jacket from someone else months ago. Same deal. They washed it in laundry detergent before they mailed it out. I had to wash it several times. The smell is still there. I don’t know why people like the perfumed laundry detergent smell. It’s so overwhelmingly nasty. And on top of that it’s so bad for you. Chemicals from that perfume can give you certain forms of cancer from it. Not only that, the chemicals damage your clothing. What do I use? There are laundry detergents that are hypoallergenic and are free of perfumes and dyes. Every brand has at least one line of detergent that is free of dyes and perfumes. There are natural detergents too. Look into it.

RAW Denim wäscht man nicht in der Waschmaschine, sondern ganz vorsichtig in der Badewanne^^. Deswegen löst sich jetzt das Label und es enstehen schneller Löcher. Ahh, Harry. Can't agree with that. The holes and the fades have nothing to do with the washing machine. Nor does the label coming off. The holes are from wear and tear and were there before I washed. I just didn't notice. The label is made from a paper like material. Paper doesnt like water much and it is not all that durable. Using a bathtub you'll never get out as much of the dirt and grime as you will by throwing a pair of jeans in the machine and it will do no harm at all.
