@@jakebrowning2373 its do to the fact the 1bit, 4bit etc are made on those bits (file size) if you lower the original to those bits it will almost be a single constant sound with tiny small other sounds sometimes getting though when the sound has the file size. 8Bit was not a genera when it was made it was industry slandered for file size and so on. a single wav song today. example: all of Mario bros (the entire game such as music, graphics, code etc) was 32 KB in size while a today's time, a song in wav (uncompressed raw essentially) is around 30MB. thats 31457280KB. a single song in today's standards is 983,040 Mario bros entire size let alone the music size would put it into 10s of millions if only counting that. what people do now is not follow those size limitations but imagine what the sound would be now still around 30mb but clear. what would it sound like if we could clean it up while keeping the grungieness to it. these bits and parts are all made in a normal format today not limiting it. thats why it sounds so good.

Fun Facts: Atari, C64, NES, GB are all 8-bit systems SNES & Sega Genesis are 16-bit GameCube, Sega Saturn and PS1 are 32-bit Dreamcast & PS2 are 128-bit with a 64-bit CPU core And ironically, there's still no real reason to go above 64-bit (even PCs are still 32/64-bit)
