I can get the essence, the mindset of a veteran detector from this style of video. I like the no nonsense approach.

Nice vid J. Same here on the locations. Hard hit park here in OKC, neighbor walked up to me and asked me if I was finding anything in the playground area, told him a few coins, he then said'"well, the playground was not always here, they moved it a few years back. The old play ground used to be over there"', as he pointed, so I went over to this grassy area and pulled up silver jewelry for the next 2 months. All of it marked sterling. Old silver. Works with people on info. Another park, older couple, told me they pulled down turn of the century apts back in the late 60's. Relic treasure trove. Tremendous amount of fired bullet projectiles. You'd not know they were there. you'd think you were just at the local park. Great tips J.

As soon as I'm ready to fire off what's in my head the wrong word comes out and it waterfalls from there lol. I find it best to say mid conversation. Oh crap. I gotta go poop and run away

When I grid, which is most of the time I have 4 plastic(bright yellow) tent pegs

I've used a lot of machines Tesoro, Simplex, Equinox, V3i but the Deus (ORX) is just so light, fast, and easy to use. Glad to here I'm not the only one who doesn't grid a new spot.

Couldn't agree more! I have had dozens of machines through the years and the Deus is just so light and the recovery speed is amazing. The Deus is not a deep seeking machine but it has scored Jim and I many many more gold rings than we usually get. I will be getting the Deus2 MF when it is released.

The pegs also helps, say when you find a 100 year old coin. You can mark that spot and work that area that has the marker

Spiral with the 100 year coin in the center. That’s my method. I also usually avoid the places every detector has hit. Do really well by scoping the park, and hit the less obvious spots like park/property boundaries. I stay away from the big trees, because I know everyone has hit that 50x over.

Hi, you detect a lot of parks. Did you have to look them up to find out if it’s legal to detect them? If so I was wondering how you go about doing that. I’m guessing it’s by state and maybe even by town. I live in upstate NY, on southern VT line and have been looking for a good resource that I can trust. Thanks very much.

Looks like a ashtray door off old car.

That lid was actually brass. The ashtrays in old cars were iron. The shape is just right for an ashtray but not the right type of metal.

Actually there is an app that maps where you’ve been if someone wanted to grid.

jeffkopesky1130- Don’t take any advice from a person who hardly can write. ( look at yourself it is a bad thing you do! Judge your self.). The man is right about his technique. I use this for decades..
