If you want to find old places to metal detect in particular really old ones from the 1800s and 1700s you have to go way out into the woods. Today we go exploring here in New England in search of a cellar hole that is a couple of miles out in the hills. There are no roads and no trails ! we have to bush wack and find our way there by reading the land. We will be looking for signs of people living here and doing things a long time ago like land clearing, stacking rocks to make stone walls and improved land from clearing and farming. The cellar holes are the old foundations where back in the colonial days they built their houses on top. Well today we found a cellar because of the big chimney stack that was made out of big rocks and still in a pile.

Stacked chimney rock never looked so good. You found it. Can’t wait to see what you detect. I’m going to keep the Faith that no one has been there before detecting from decades ago. Break on through to the other side. Thank you Doors, thank you Not Thursday Charlie. Joyce 🇺🇸❤️

I pray you found it easier going back to your vehicle than you did finding the cellar hole Charlie. The research you do has paid off in finding it and let's hope there are relics there when you go back to detect. Its so hard getting there that I doubt others are not as determined as you are sweetheart. Good luck and happy hunting and hiking my friend, God bless you and NinJen love and hugs to you both Mary-Ellen LFOD UK

Wow all that rain sure hinders your hike. What a mess is right. WOOF But at least you found your target for the day. Hope your hike out was much better. I was worried with your wet boots you would have slipped. Please be careful out there I understand you do it every day, just be safe. Thank you for the video.

Nice video. At 10:03 there is a rock wall area under the horizontal rock that looks like it would have been a great place to have a hidden cache. The sun is on it and there is some sticks in front of it. Take a look for a loose rock in that group. Good Luck, Rick

Nice. Two miles in forty minutes is awesome. Typically that's a walking pace on perfect terrain. Accomplishing that in wooded terrain is impressive.
