this helped immensely! So many tuts on looping compositions and few on layers. I was able to loop a moving waveform! thanks a bunch.

Nice tutorials 👍. I was surprised it was free and i didnt think it had course materials but it does and its only 10 dollars 👍 which is an amazing deal for a quality course. Definitely way worth it and ill try to go through all the videos.

Thank so much for the tutorial. But I need help. Do you know how to stop the loopOut("continue") expression at a certain time? I can't find anything about this. If u can help, i'd be glad.

Something like: if (time < 10) { loopOut("continue") } else { valueAtTime(10) } might work, but you won't be able to 'pause' the animation this way, so the valueAtTime() amount may need to be tweaked a few times to get the desired result.

are you making the animation from 0:20 to 0:40 with the range selector?

This is achieved with multiple text layers. There is probably a way to use range selectors for this if needed.

I want to combine loopIn AND loopOut expressions because I want the animation to start before the first keyframe and continue after the last keyframe. Annoyingly, the second expression cancels out the first.

Try this method which blends between two expressions. Your "in" expression will be "a" and "out" will be "b" for this example. Use the blend slider to switch from the "in" to the "out" once all the objects are in view. I always get a syntax error when apply loopOut(“offset”) or loopOut(type = “offset”) to my keys, what could be?

Make sure you’re formatting your quotations properly. To ensure they are correct, type them directly into the expression window instead of copy and paste. Reach out if you still have issues after trying this.

Javascript quotations need to be straight quotes, but many text editing applications convert quotations to smart quotes, also known as curly quotes. You need to manually convert these when copying and pasting into After Effects. If you type them directly into the expression, they will be formatted correctly. question, if i want to stop the rocket what should i do?

Most likely, you'll want to use keyframes if stopping the loop is important. You could create an expression like: if ( time > 10 ) { value } else { loopOut() } but that would not stop the rocket, rather it would return to the ending position. Try keyframes for this and see if that works.

Try deleting and manually typing in the " quotation marks, it looks like you're using curly quotes which will produce a syntax error.

@@Animoplex I found the problem, it turns out that in ae cs6 we only need to write one quotation mark (') if it is 2 (") then an error will be detected, thanks for the response, always success with your channel
