A parte dos "reloginhos" é onde você adiciona "Keyfames" para que a partir dali até o ponto onde você selecionar mude algum valor. Por exemplo, você clica no reloginho para adicionar uma Keyframe e dizer que a partir dali você quer que alguma mudança seja feita, aí você seleciona o valor e pronto. É só fazer o passo a passo que ele mostrou no vídeo.

A much easier way than creating the yellow crop lines around him is to use the selection tool in photoshop, select him, inverse the selection, delete the background, export the photo as png, put it into after effects, and put the after effects scattering effect on the transparent image.

I figured it out. You have to make sure the Mask 1 under Video 2 is set the "none" instead of "add" in the drop down button
