Add horsepower, go back to the old tires, and less brakes. No underbody aero.

But nascar won't listen to the drivers because in their own words, it's to expensive 😒. This is one of the reasons why nascar isn't taken seriously by everyone

NASCAR has listened to the drivers too much that why they are in the men’s they’re in. NASCAR shouldn’t listen to the drivers period. NASCAR is a mess, they operate the sport looking in the rearview mirror.

Cup cars had 900 plus horse power in the late 90's. I say give them a 1000 plus and take the spoilers off. That should make for some great racing and the real drivers will rise to the top. The greats of Nascar struggled with the lack of power. It helps the car turn in the corners and helps wear the tires out. If a manufacture can't make the number, that company needs better engineers. Money isn't an issue. Using that as an argument is just disgraceful. Car company's spend more on advertisements then most R&D. Lets be real, if they race anything they can make the number guaranteed.

Technically no. There are some batteries and turbo and such that “add” moments of HP gain but not on a continuous basis, meaning not from lap to lap

there is one catch on the high horsepower the more you juke and juice up and engine the quicker it burns out and needs rebuilt, horsepower is fun but it wont do you anygood if you cant plant it you just end up like a sprintcar and get soo much torque and speed on the wheels you burn them off, thats one reason they really havent bumped the power on those up for sometime, its not that hard to make a bit more power though they do it with naturally asperated openwheel cars easy. but that said I would be kind of sad if the light openwheel cars like sprints or silvercrown were no longer the biggest engined cats on the track, though you do have the exotic cars that do the endurance racing like le monds seabreng like last weekend and daytona but that is more about how many laps you can put on the track in the time not as much about who is in position 1 and differant classes of cars on track at same time, its differant racing and f1 they are more road or street course not the all out ovals that nascar and indycar often run. but if larson says they should try letting them use more hp you ought to listen, the guy is basicly the modern aj foyt or mario andretti runs good in about anything he wheels, but stays soo buissy and focused on the race its very hard to talk to him for any extended period at least when he is running his sprint car I tried 2 times to talk for a moment, its not easy, hes amicable and takes time for fans but always in motion

Thought experiment: Ex 1) NASCAR promotes a single mid-season race at _______ track with most hp ever as a return to "bad fast" racing. Ex 2) NASCAR goes dirt racing as a return to its roots. Answer honestly: Which Ex. causes more sport exposure, online engagement, long-term fan affinity?

Compared to the other major sports, NASCAR is a clown show. They lost me after 35 years. At least in the other sports, you can see their reasoning for making/not making changes whether you agree with them or not. NASCAR likes to keep this nebula of bullshit excuses they pull from when criticized. When Harvick wrapped it up, so did i.

F1 engines produce roughly 1000 hp and they have very small engines. From what I’ve read, NASCAR puts out 670 hp at all tracks? I thought we had some 750 tracks. Regardless, let’s move to 750 or 850 for short tracks to make the racing better. What partner can’t go to 750 or 1000? Hyundai? Kia? Honda makes or made I should say engines for Red Bull Racing so should be no issue.

Reading between the lines NASCAR has kept the hp bar low for the 10 years Larson has driven because they view adding a manufacturer as critical to the sports longevity. A necessary evil? I'm not sold adding a manufacturer at the espense of integrity is worth it. I believe it's desperation. Whatever it actually is it's a shame these undoubtedly top echelon drivers cannot prove themselves to the world. Excitement comes along with ragged edge hp. In the sports heyday motors were at risk of blowing any time due to running on the edge. Top talent/engineering was exposed. If we once again added this engineering expertise/risk element one can legitimately argue it may be more exciting than any added stage racing, f1 envy, under carriage, etc and thus more valuable to sponsors. I long for the day of drivers driving on the edge. NASCAR has taken risks lately. This is the big one. Go big hp or go home. Ya cant fake "bad fast" fan excitement.

NASCAR is one of the worst run organizations in America, then it’s by far the worst run sport in America next to INDY CAR. NASCAR has always seen INDY as it only competition and because INDY is so poorly run they though they were alright

IndyCar is better at running their races, at least they don't try to throw cautions for the excuse of bunching up the field...and they let green flag pit stops cycle through before waving a yellow if one is necessary.

@@polycube868 I mean that’s just traditional meaning of a race. Start, go as slow as you can and be the first one to Finish. INDY did to itself decades ago what NASCAR has/is in process of doing to itself, over the last decade. 50M people use to listen to the INDY 500 on the radio, but they are a relic running on a past that doesn’t exist. Compare all this to V8 SuperCars, on scale a much smaller dynamic but one of the greatest racing series in the world, it’s just that powers that be work more on keeping them out of America than doing something about their own series.

To convince NASCAR of anything that makes sense you have to hit the pocketbook fans are watching races on TV in record numbers the stands are full if that is removed that will get a vast attention by NASCAR when people stay home when the ratings are down and not only that the only way the drivers will convince NASCAR is if they would go out there and erase and drive around all of them at minimum speed they wouldn't be breaking any rules but you see how fast horsepower would go in Motors they're always going to do the opposite of what the people and the drivers want they want to show that they have ultimate control over everything their powermongers they remind me of politicians in Washington they do what they want when the people want something better and I want something better and I don't put any money into NASCAR but I'm just one of the millions who are putting money in NASCAR's pocket when they start feeling a financial burden they'll make some changes that the drivers and even the fans want this new car is crap it is totally been destruction of NASCAR in terms of NASCAR's ability to restrict its performance I don't think it was designed correctly if the error was screwed up have they ever heard of a wind tunnel I guess not NASCAR is no fun to watch it's the same thing no matter what track you're on follow the leader good luck Kyle maybe if Mr h would Grease the hands of the politicians of NASCAR he would get somewhere or better yet maybe he needs to grease them a little more today you really don't care what you say Kyle no matter what kind of champion the world thinks you are They're laughing at you drivers that would infuriate me you're their little puppets that go out there and do what they tell you to how they make you and your letter around by the nose sniffing up everything they say cuz they're not going to change it they're obstinate and they've been very definitive about how they want the sport to be not what the drivers want it to be it's not about you if you don't like it you can quit there's plenty of other drivers that will fill your shoes and that's what they know you're fools😂

Trouble with nascar is toyoder buying as much air time as possible during a race. Its sickening. Going woke doesnt help them either. If the pace car isnt a toyoder, it dont get mentioned or even a camera aimed at it. Fox and nbc take toyoder money as well for more "air time". Nascar the "spectator sport" now turned into a 3 hour commercial for whoever pays them the most. nascar president taking a fist full at the same time. Then they wonder why the stands arent full, or the TV ratings are lowest in history. GM and Ford should leave nascrap and start a new series, bring Dodge into it too. Use the same tracks at times, dump most 1.5 milers too. Its like you tube and all the ad's now. I will not buy anything mentioned in these ad's and will never own a toyoder. TV is way too commercialized. More commercials than the actual TV show. France and toyoder running a once very popular sport into the ground. Sundays are now baseball and golf for me. Something exciting.
