Point being , he is going intentionally into positions that these people have studied to an extreme degree, and beating them at their own game. Commentators mentioned during this match that this specific setup was Rapports speciality.

Really ? Have you not noticed how much he hesitates and stutters throughout his videos ? A perfect example of this can be heard at 13.10 - the constant ughs, ers, ahs etc makes it almost painful to listen to. I'm sure it wasn't always like this. Maybe he's just becoming lazy and sloppy as well as formulaic and repetitive . Pains me to say it as for the last five years he was easily my favourite chess channel .

Magnus is still the WC whether he officially has the title or not
@taylorkroff8254
@taylorkroff8254 2 ай бұрын
Best comment I've seen this week! I've been saying this ever since Ding won the world title last year. And honestly, I think this is why Ding has been playing so poorly since his WC match with Nepo. He knows that "on paper" he is the WC, but in reality, Magnus Carlsen is still WC: Ding simply doesn't deserve the title. And I believe that this cognitive dissonance inside of him has been eating him up inside, and that is what is causing him to play so poorly. I honestly feel really bad for the guy.

Rook to G-1 backing up Queen's next move to G-8 forcing a Queen trade after Black's Rook takes Queen, then the G-1 Rook takes the Black Rook, then the White Pawn on H-7 takes the Queen and becomes a Queen. White is up on the exchange and the rest is gravy.

I appreciate Magnus's play, but some of the comments seem so out of context. Calm down people, Rapport is like world number 35 or whatever the actual number is. He is that far back that no one even knows. Its normal for a world number one to beat him. Like Djokovic beating Norrie in tennis.
@whizkid4386

Only Djokovic wouldn’t be able to beat a good many of the Top 10 at the moment, certainly not the Top 5. Carlsen’s play was nothing spectacular - it was Richard’s game to lose and he made a few very ill-timed blunders.
