I thought it would be a Queen sacrifice but I found the wrong square to sacrifice it and probably for the wrong reason thinking if Queen took knight the pawn would promote but of course that makes no sense since black has a Queen and Rook defending 8th rank but in chess puzzles there is such a move where Queen gives itself up to promote pawn I know what the move is now of course very clever deflection tactic😊♟️

@@michaelmassaro4375 I'm very sure you could make a argument for them. But truly I think Magnus sheer dominance and ability to win positions nobody else would/accept a draw puts him over the edge.... I mean the guy could literally be defending the world title had he not got bored... But id always hear out the argument 🤷

U.S. Chess. Hall of Fame. Inducted 1993. Born in France but raised in Hungary, Pal Benko earned the title of Hungarian Chess Champions at the age of 20. Pal Benko was a Hungarian-American grandmaster and two-time candidate for the world championship

Fischer got eight wins out of nine decisive games he played in that tournament. Gets only topped by that one U.S. championship in 1964 where he won every game. Like a wrecking ball, absolutely incredible.

Outside of Benko and Reshevsky, no one else was really world class. It's not like now when the top 10 Americans are top 100 or top 150 in the world. Of course, Bobby was already Bobby so it's not like he wasn't capable of running through top 10 players in the world like butter. However the patzers he was mostly facing were easy pickings. The Byrne Brothers couldn't beat teenage Bobby; they weren't beating or drawing Bobby in his 20s.

We relied on newspapers and frequent visits to chess clubs to be up to date with the chess world; this happened when I was a teenager so I remember all the drama around chess; those were great times, and the only good thing about technology nowadays is we could play with people all over the world, but nothing beat OTB matches, it was more challenging, less cheating and better chess players 😯

Currently the most dominant World Chess Champion in chess history was Kasparov ... he is the GOAT of Chess. Anand and Carlsen will be second and third place. Bobby Fischer is just the myth because he never defended his title ... sad very sad. Carlsen had the chance to become the GOAT of Chess but he was not able to handle the pressure of being the World Chess Champion ... sad very sad. Now Gukesh has the opportunity to become the World Champion and maybe defend his title more times than Kasparov and become the GOAT of Chess ... I wish this be the case because Gukesh is a really nice person, just like Anand.

When I saw Duncan Suttles at the bottom of the standings, I asked myself how could this be, as Duncan is Canadian (he's 78 and retired from competitive chess). After a visit to Wikipedia, I discovered he was born in San Francisco, and moved with his family to Canada when he was eight. Turns out he has dual U.S./Canada citizenship, and that fact (plus his performance at the time) qualified to play in this particular edition of the U.S. Championship. He is Canada's second-ever GM, after Abe Yanofsky.

Several grainy black-and-white photos are printed, and from those I'm making a comparison with the photo agadmator showed. These are best guesses.
