Against my better judgement !!

I think Yew is a really cool and interesting wood with loads of character. so I'm going against my better judgement with this piece and casting it in resin coloured with Pewter mica powder to turn a hollow form..
I will prepare my self for the comments 😂

The colour's are quite spooky and when you were emptying out the wood shavings, it looked like the gut's of a pumpkin, being scraped out. Very appropriate for the time of year, I love it! ❤

Glad you didn't listen to your judgement! That's beautiful! I still can't get over how you contrast the wood and acrylic so perfectly that it's like nature planned it that way! Yet again you knock my socks off!

Pewter was an interesting choice. At the beginning when the resin had set it didn’t look much, but the contrast between the dark resin and the light wood was as clear and beautiful as night and day. Thanks Andy.

Very pretty; the shape reminds me of pottery made by the tribes of the southwest. They make some beautiful horsehair pottery.

Beautiful work! Started turning about 2 years ago, I love it! Turned a couple of resin bowls but can't seem to get the air bubbles out, so I got frustrated and haven't used resin in a while.
