I love it when Peter says to Matthew - "to the ends of the earth...." Cried because we shared this saying in our youth and so many times when we wrong each other we throw that out the window but here both men have changed and serve a higher purpose and oh how I love when Matthew says of his worries and fears and then says but I only have one thing to do "Follow him" wow that hit me hard because I have shared Mathews fear and worries and what a difference a mindset adjustment makes.

I found SOME of what you quoted form the Bible , though i had to stop the video form time to time, to look for the passages and verses..The scenes leading up to this, made my heart hurt and then cry.. When Matthew asks Simon Peter for forgiveness on the road, and Simon Peter, still filled with anger doesnt say anything and just leaves Matthew standing there, Made my heart hurt for Matthew, and then... scenes later, when Simon Peter sees everyone and sees Matthew, and walks briskly up to him and Hugs him, and tells him quietly in his ear, that he forgives him, forever. and Matthew chokes up and gets teary eyed, made me cry..and the last words from Simon Peter, It;s Over and walks off🙂 BRavo!!

At the very end where Peter was determined to make things right with Matthew walking straight towards him as if to say I'm doing this,l It was that look, it was my favorite scene of the episode.

As always, great insights, Eli. I really enjoyed episode 2 because Peter forgave Matthew in his “Simon Peter” way! Can’t wait for episode 3 on Sunday night. Although I saw it in the theater, can’t wait to see it again!

SANHEDRIN was the Jewish religious legal counsel. The Sadducees one group of the Sanhedrin. Pharisees are the other group.

The sheer rock face at CP was a specific factor. Also the ruler of the world Cesar and Peter head if the church would be contending against each other. Jesus said his Father in heaven revealed who Jesus was to Simon and thus this was also an indication from the Father who was chosen.

Think Jesus was speaking those things that be not as though they were, he was prophesying what Peter would become. Because Peter clearly aint that yet 🤭 he became the rock because Jesus spoke that into his life. It is so wonderful how they depicted the reactions of the others, theyre all like 'Peter?😮 A stable rock of a guy? REALLY?' All they're short of doing is asking Jesus if hes sure! 😅😂😂😂
