Awesome info, here after the Rich Cooper interview, where you mentioned you took the NAD IV over a shorter intake due to work but had a rollercoaster type feeling.... i used to be able to take Niacin or niacinamide (NAD precursor) with no issues, just red skin flush with niacin... now for some reason i feel like i am going to pass out, lose consciousness, vomit and feel like i am having a heart attack and about to die after taking niacin (weaker symptoms from niacinamide)... any ideas? im worried to do NAD IV now since i haven't done one since this new reaction has developed. Thanks

@@VigorousSteve That's good to know, thanks for the info. I've heard of anecdotal reports of guys doing injectable cardarine, and they say that its like a miracle the longer they take it, even on its own. Would you ever be willing to experiment with this compound and route of administration for the sake of education? That anecdote was on Tony Huge's channel, so I'm not so sure that its all that trustworthy.

6 years ago I had a daughter born with Glycogen storage disorder which killed her after 19 days. After analysis of my and my wifes DNA (a 2year process) it was found we were both carries of a dysfunctional DNA strand that was part of the mytocondrial process of producing ATP, we both passed our dysfunctional strands onto my daughter which meant this process could never produce ATP and glucose was stored elsewhere in the body when investigated in the autopsy. Amazing information... thank you.

Steve I really hope you read this. You saved my life bro. For real I think this stack with some tweaks healed (or supressed) my ME/CFS. I remembered that video from where I was healthy back then. I researched with all the time I had in the day (about 4 hours) how to get rid of this illness. I was with 20 Doctors no one knew something. Then I read something about misfunctioning Mitochondria and then I rememered your Vid. Today the stuff arrived, took it and feeled like 6 month before. For real man, I think I might cry. You know I could sometimes not move to go to the bathroom if i needed because of this aweful fatigue. Today I could play with my 8 month old son again. Thank you so much man. This day alone I could not even dream of. I will talk to the doctors about this stack.

I've been on 1000mg/day sublingual NMN for years. Recently it appears that the FDA has decided to take this choice from me and all other Americans. I have half a bottle left and am hoping such dictatorial bullying will follow the NAC banning episode and soon end. Some lesser-known heavy hitters (experimental): Indolepropionamide: Endogenous tryptophan derivative, related to melatonin and IPA. Increased rotifer lifespan by 300% in a study (the largest increase ever observed in that model) and the mechanism was elucidated in rats to be mitochondrial membrane potential stabilization (similar to melatonin) as well as potent mitochondrial specific ROS scavenging, far superior to melatonin and other indoles. Seems to upregulate enzymes in complex I, directly increasing output (although I would warn against the idea of upregulating/bypassing one part of the chain having positive valence in a healthy individual). Due to the similarity to melatonin, it likely has affinity for melatonin receptors, which seems confirmed by anecdotes of it causing sleepiness (but not for me!). SKQ1: Plastoquinone-derived synthetic lipophilic mitochondrial-targeted antioxidant. Increased health span and lifespan significantly in rodents. Clinically used as Visomitin for treatment of age-related eye conditions in Russia. Subjectively, very noticeable stimulation when used intranasally if you can tolerate benzyl alcohol in your nasal mucosa (don't recommend this RoA long term) SS-31: A synthetic mitochondria-specific peptide that binds to cardiolipin and stabilizes the membrane (as a bonus, DHA incorporates into cardiolipin and enhances the function of the mitochondria, DHA should always be included in a mitochondria stack to oppose the presence of other PUFAs in the diet). Has a good body of research in rodents suggesting it ameliorates multiple diseases of ageing. I need to research this one more, it seems hard to get. C60 Fullerenol (Polyhydroxylated Fullerene): The water-soluble version of the well-known Buckminsterfullerene molecule. Has little research, but chemically, it should be superior to the oft-touted C60 due to having fewer pi bonds in its structure, meaning it will be less likely to release the electron it captures and become a pro-oxidant (an issue with many antioxidants). Hydrophilicity will also cause it to distribute differently within tissues and cells (for better or worse). Although seeing as I already listed lipophilic molecules, having something that can target the cytosol instead seems logical. It may be an NMDA antagonist. It may be metabolized into the gut and promote butyrate-producing strains. Highly experimental but I can say I've used it and didn't die or have anything flagged on bloodwork. NSI-189: Experimental neurogenic anti-depressant that was observed to upregulate proteins associated with Complex III and V. The precise mechanism of NSI-189 is not well understood, although it may involve glucocorticoid receptors. This is quite a potent nootropic with the potential for side effects. Idebenone: If you like CoQ10, this is potentially superior. When taken orally, it only has 1% bioavailability and it metabolizes into something called QS10, so the research on Idebenone itself isn't as relevant (which can actually inhibit/bypass Complex I, good for people with inborn errors of metabolism, but potentially a harmful mechanism in a healthy person. See also: the misplaced hype about Methylene Blue). QS10 can partially replace endogenous CoQ10, it has superior pharmacokinetics. It should stimulate Complex III activity just like Idebenone does. And the boring stuff: Optimizing the inborn errors of metabolism that are bottlenecking your biochemical pathways. Chris Masterjohn is the best source for information regarding this. He is now ageing at 2/3 the normal rate according to DunedinPACE, putting him ahead of Bryan Johnson, so he knows what he's talking about regarding these topics!

man this is amazing. would you consider making a video, maybe a tier list, of the most bang for buck drugs/supplements? (i know you have video of the best supps already, but i mean just everything; peds, supps, etc. all competing in one list based on effect per cost) for example i always wondered if something like this would have a more or less potent effect on overall body composition compared to taking something like mod grf or similar if working with a limited budget?

One of the best information available around mitochondrial function! Many supplements which help with mitochondrial function and mechanism of atp production very well explained in this video! The deep dive, since very well and interesting put together, didn't feel like an one hour video!! Recommend to everyone who wants to improve or struggle with energy production. Steve, this is one of your best deep dive videos in my opinion, super helpful! Very much appreciated, thanks a lot for your efforts.

Regarding the doxycycline advice at 42:30 I'd highly recommend checking your sensitivity to doxy beforehand as it dramatically hurt my work outs and gave me horrendous diarrhea and nausea it can be worse than coming off a blast if you don't mesh well with it

Fantastic video! Your knowledge is gold. One suggestion though: please consider adding more vitamin B1(thiamine) to the stack to be taken at the same time as magnesium. The 50mg included in that multi B vitamin you mentioned is insufficient for everyone regardless if they're healthy or unhealthy. It's dirt cheap. It's a requirement for mitochondria in order to convert glucose into ATP. In other words, your mitochondria cannot function without it! I rarely go a day without 200-300mg of thiamine monohydrate or alithiamine. I've experimented with megadoses of up to 2500mg and did not have any negative side effects. The Japanese have decades of medical research on thiamine as beriberi and famine hit them hard during and after WW2. Dr. Derek Lonsdale and EONutrition are more accessible resources for learning about thiamine if you haven't already extensively looked into it.

@@the1stime Right on! Elliott saved my life. The KZfaq algorithm suggested one of his videos to me when I was at a low point. I went in blind. So fortunate I took the time to check it out. It didn't solve all of my health issues but I'm doing much better these days thanks to thiamine.

For the past bit I’ve been on 20mg PQQ with 400mg CoQ10, 500mg NMN, 500mg berberine, 5g taurine, 5g L citrulline, 5g Glycine, 5-10g creatine, 2g NAC, 2g L carnitine L tartrate (planning on switching to 500mg injectable carnitine) in addition to pharma grade/prescription TRT+, and on top of the other basic vitamins (2g EPA 1g DHA, vitamin D, K, zinc, B vitamins, choline etc), and I feel great, however through experimentation I’ve established this for myself: 1. Oral L carnitine increased TMAO and it raised my lipids total+LDL and lowered my HDL. Adding in Allicin +switching to injectable should hopefully attenuate it. 2. Creatinine increased but not worryingly, cystatin C actually went down and eGFR went up slightly. 3. 3000mg of vitamin C actually decreased my ferritin significantly and my RBC and hematocrit went through the roof, I assume it was from it making my body release lots of iron. I cut it out and reintroduced it at 500mg and my hematology stabilized, I must just be very sensitive to vit C in particular. MOTS-C and some of the other peptides you mentioned are on the bucket list, however my bank account is gonna have to make some gains before I try them out haha.

I love your stack and knowledge, but I think there are some superfood and mushroom / adaptogens still missing. I also have fuciodan, TMG and ginseng for SIRT1-6 activation. Also I get most of my molecules much cheaper than you quote from the factory as powder. The mitochondria boosting power of spirulina and chlorella at the same time are also well documented, so it is part of my protein superfood matrix.
