send the villagers on top of the wall then archers will do much less damage. You can also send your villagers on top of the wall while the stone tower is building and cancel it, so your enemy infantry won't be able to catch them and you can extend your stone wall with villagers on top.

You can also build the stone towers while on the wall. So even better there too. Idk this could been really intense maybe with some chook a nu units as well mixed in the rush idk. Worth experimenting and improving I think for sure

The villagers can even drop torches on the rams from the top of the wall if the distance is right.

Just get archers and a siege tower, this stone rush canceled. And then go straight for his base since the opponent has less workers

I feel like he played right into Delhi's only win condition of a long, slow turtle. I imagine he'd have better luck with this strategy against other civs.

Lol what’s a hilarious strategy, but I’m not sure how viable it is, or how much better than just using an outposts with handcannon slits, much faster to set up and less stone required. Anyway it all started to fall apart when he placed the clocktower, that was a terrible choice.. should have at least finished the stone towers first, and definitely moved it back a bit further

Bruh I've been doing this since launch, and been saying it's the best way to tower rush. If only my macro, micro, and virtually every other skillset in this game was moderately okay. I'd be ~unstoppable~

This kind of play reminds me of what I would do in Stronghold. Just build a few sections of walls and stack archers on top. Though for Age of Empires IV you can do it with stone towers. And I guess more archers. You can defend your resources far better that way than with just outposts

full marks to Dick the birthday boi for not giving up when cornered from all sides within his own base throughout the game and yet be able to win the game...just that I don't understand why Delhi players act so conservative when clicking on all the upgrades asap(except Fitzbro I think)...you can always cancel to sequence them, at least won't be blamed of being forgetful.

Cant believe our boy Derios made it to a Drongo Video. He is part of our Civ VI competitive grp that also plays a little AOE4 and he has tower rushed himself into freaking top 100 with just this 1 cheese. Fkn hell m8.

I cried so much when he cancelled finishing the defense in favor of making the landmark so close to his enemy :( Very obvious mistake imo. The Age up should of waited just a little longer.

He could have combined it with the Chu Ko Nu on top of the walls which would be able to harrass at a large distance and also do good damage against the rams.

Rams have much better range defence after patch. However there melee defence is weaker and so is their health. Tho range units do like no damage to rams now.

@@kalle1689 15 armor, 30 armor, it's the same to the Chu Ko Nu as they do sweet fuck all damage per arrow (so same damage as pre-patch), just the 3 round burst gets them to where they want to be.

I do this against the AI in every single game vs. hardest. They literally have zero defense against even a wooden tower rush. I then double build barracks and it's GG.

@@superstar5042 I seem to get out produced and wiped out. I can usually manage it as the mongols, or the Brits. But that’s it. Maps with choke points are easy. Those without, I just lose the initiative defending everywhere, and end up either being swamped by knights and men at arms, backed up with artillery. Or a stubborn stalemate around a string of forts I build halfway up. Either way, the AI eventually out produces me. Love the game though. Am going to have another go.
