Age of Fantasy Skirmish Battle Report (High Elves Vs Vampiric Undead 230 points) Quest 9

Episode 9 of a narrative campaign, where 2 humans and 2 elves team up to face an unknown enemy. Main characters will earn XP and gain talents and/or injuries as they progress through the campaign.
Quest 9: Light the Beacon
Haleth, Faewynn and the High Elves have travelled deep into the lands of the Evil Necromancer. They have travelled fast and silent, but their allies - Galtrin and the Eternal Wardens have no idea where they are. They are also being followed and can hear the howling of wolves at night closer and closer. When they spot an abandoned guard post, they decide to face their followers and also try to reveal their position by lighting a beacon.
On the opposite side of a river, a large Ghoul approaches commanding hordes of zombies as well as dreadful wolves. The High Elves must seek to take out the undead before they get too close!
Special mission objectives: Conserve (Elves), Head Hunter (Undead)
Correction: At 31.00 I mention that special objectives is not yet completed. That's not true. The score on the screen shows the total VP score including special objectives.

My terrain is usually a mix of different manufacturers, 3d print and other homemade stuff. In this video most of it is from Battle Systems.. Cardboard terrain that can be assembled in different ways. They have fantasy as well as Sci-fi terrain available.. I have a video about the terrain types I use. The dice are just from my usual supplier of gaming stuff. They’re from Chessex I think.. Normally I go for dice that are clear to see on camera and if possible match the color and theme of the armies.. 😊 Thanks for watching

Thanks a lot.. The terrain is from Battle Systems.. most of it. I also have similar terrain from Green Stuff World.. but the Fantasy Village terrain from Battle Systems is really useful.. 👍😊

I really love your battle reports! Have I misunderstood the rules? Don't you only take control of objectives at the end of the round?

Thanks very much.. You're right.. It's at the end of the round a unit will control an objective and stay in control even if they move away.. So when I mention they move to an objective and take control of it, it's only a way of speaking that means "they now control it and if nothing else happens in the round they will claim it at the end of the round".. But technically it's not correct. :-)

I think there is a “mistake” at 17:45: you stated that with a roll of 2 or less, the unit will survive. Units with tough (x) will only be knocked out on rolls of 5+x, so a tough (3) would need an 8 to be knocked out. In your case it did not matter, because you rolled a 5 and had your 3 wounds 😅 if this rule does not exist, it would be quite easy to take out a tough unit. Or did the unit have 5 wounds and I missed it? 😅 then it would be correct.

Thanks very much.. You’re right about the game mechanics and tough(x), but she is not a character with tough, so she only has one wound.. She fought like a hero though.. 😊 Thanks for watching

Yes, my mistake, i did not watch the video in one go. I just saw the 2 wounds she already had and then I assumed she has tough(3)
