Great video! I always love seeing the slaves to darkness :) Something small I noticed in Skaven's 2nd charge phase (43:48), Archaon could have used the monsterous rampage from Dorghar's Nurgle head on the gutter runners since it has 6' range

I think the most intriguing part of this match was Archaon's eye ability. I still haven't figured how best to use it now that its open knowledge. In this match it definitely helped me more in terms of being more aggressive. I observed that I was talking about my possibilities more than David was. That said I also noticed that managing individual bonuses become more higher risk higher reward. If you know you're being double turned, mystic shield for example suddenly is going to do work. Whereas if you have buff spells like Death Frenzy, your SOD opponents are forcing you to earn those casts every turn. That said, I think it was still wise to do it early because of the nature of David's list, one that would be in my face between the first 2 rounds, so that 1 to2 round swing would be so important. Also our rat-ducken analogy was king.

Excellent battle report I like the camera work, easy to see what's going on. It would be nice if it was a bit shorter but overall great work.

Brutal matchup! My buddy who runs Archaon and Slaves to Darkness ran a list that was almost exactly the same with the new Battletome, too. The Chaos Warriors with Nurgle/Eroding Icon is grooooosssssss. Super chonky boys. I have to be honest about something... I'm not wild about those Slaves to Darkness dice... 😬 The contrast between the dice and pips just isn't very bright, and it makes them kind of annoying to read... I had a hard time making them out in real-time. They're still nice, I'm just not in love with them. To address the question of sticky terrain: I'd say that unless the rules explicitly say otherwise, contesting terrain features works like contesting objectives. So whoever held it last continues to hold it, same with objectives. But that's my input. Big thing here is the Eye of Sheerian ability. Its supposed to be hidden from the opponent. 🤫 You roll the die and keep it it hidden, but you still get to look at it yourself. So you can plan for the following round, but your opponent has to guess. Makes for a fun mind game. I get that its hard to showcase with a battle report like this, short of Mike (BTW, welcome back, Mike! 😁) leaving the room or averting his eyes while David rolls for the benefit of the audience. But I feel like it played a big part in the first 2 rounds here. Also, a minor thing here... I think in Round 3 or 4, David gave Archaon Heroic Willpower for an extra unbind, but only non-wizard heroes can use that Heroic Action. Probably wouldn't have made a difference. But still. Super interesting game! Loved how it came down to the absolute wire at the end! Can't wait to see more Slaves to Darkness on the channel! 😁

Nice game. It can be a slog versus S2D but it is way more exciting than watching a Nurgle Maggotkin game. It is such a thematic army but it is also so boring to watch. Looking forward to more S2D content.

Frankly I could have out-right won the game if I hadn't moved my gutter runners away from the very corner. That would have been too far a charge even with a demonic speed, triple dice charging Archaon. The rest of my army could have died body blocking the big guy at bottom of 5 and I still had it. No excuses there.
