WELCOME TO SPEARHEADZ! This casual gaming series is going to explore Warhammer's new format of fixed-list casual gaming. This wide-onramp new system for playing Games Workshop's cosmic-fantasy wargame is perfect for the kitchen-table game crowd and is perfectly suited for where I'm at with gaming.
The Fire and Jade book in the new Skaventide boxed set has the complete game along with all the armies for this format; so we're going to dig into that all week long!

Um, actually, Ash, the guy on the Griff Stalker is a Lord Vigilant, which is different from the guy on foot- who is the Lord Veritant. And they're both different from the the Vexillor, Venator, Vigilants, Vanquishers, or Vendictors. Seriously, I don't see where the confusion stems from.

This looks like so much fun. My main concern was always the size of the board and how it might just become a static scrum in the middle after turn one, but I’ve been really impressed by how the objective system encourages / requires a lot more manoeuvring and thought than I’d been expecting. I am ready.

Dude, I'm loving these videos. These are fucking peak new-player/introductory-friendly videos, especially starting with the first in the series. Been loving Spearhead so far and I've referenced your stuff when trying to get confirmation on some rule things. Keep it up, man.

KRULEBOYZ my precious!!!! As an objective balanced observered we NEED the Sigmarines to sleep at the bottom of the swamp. So nice to se the Krule Boyz back in action :) Nice small game format, playbale for a new player out of box and after work without major prep. The old starterset will be very cheap as soon as AOS 4 is in retail no?

Is anyone else getting a second or two gap between the sound and visuals? I hear the dice roles and then see the dice roll. The into chat is in sync, but not the game. (This was the case for the first Spearhead video as well?)

It’s because I’m recording Multicam on OBS and the MacBook I’m using is struggling to compile. The solution is spending money lol. It will get sorted and it’s super minor as an issue in the meantime.

It's a Gryph crow because a normal gryphon is a mix of a lion and an eagle, the gryph crow is a mix of a lion and a crow. I believe the difference in the design is the beak is more elongated like a crow rather than the short sharp beak of an eagle and the feathers are shorter and sharper like a crows unlike the more rounded and longer feathers of an eagle. but yeah the design is not quite clear.

Why not charge with those Prosecutors into the Killbow in round 3? The objective they were on is sticky so you would hold it and you could not only take the objective from the Killbow but also have a shot at killing it and prevent its shooting next turn.

The bottom of the Ironjawz preview mentioned that there isn't currently one, there are "distant rumblings" or some such but currently nothing on offer sadly. The day of the pig shall come again, I hope.

I hate that they made the lord veritant's ward save break on a 1. That means you have to roll his wards one at a time, you can't roll them in batches. It's like the Dark Eldar shadowfield all over again.

Hope ranged kruleboyz keep their crit mortals in the base game, auto-wound seems like a nothing burger for a killbow thats wounds on a 2+

@@Nubloot honestly i dont like them either, but if you create a faction with no rend and put them on 5+ saves they need the mortals. Even with them they were the worst faction through 3rd edition and i cant imagine how can work in 4th witout them

@@Nubloot WHY THE *&)&)&)* DID THEY GIVE IT TO EVERYONE AND THEIR GRANDMA IN 2.0 en 3.0 THEN. I think gw really likes crit mortals but the player base sure doesn't and we made that verry clear to them over the last 5 years.

Is there something in Spearhead that allows a unit to contest two objectives? In the past a single unit could only count as contesting a single objective and if you were contesting two you'd have to pick. Thanks so much for the batrep, looking forward to the rest of the week!

No, he just misplayed. The same as telling the opponent he couldn't charge past him on the objective. Only need 1 guy in half an inch for the charge and the rest can be wherever if they keep coherency. Kruelboyz player won by a big margin.
