Academic year starts in Europe in September post their summer break. In India, we have summer in April and May. So schools usually start in June. We also have too many festival breaks. So in all kids have lots of breaks. We also have schools with Saturdays off.

@@AgnesMann Believe me, pressure is good. It prepares kids for real life. Real life is not a picnic. There must be some reason why Indians are CEOs of global companies - Nadella (Microsoft), Pichai (Google), Narasimhan (Novartis), Narayan (Adobe), Krishna (IBM), Laxman (Starbucks), Devgan (Cadence), Arora (Palo Alto Network), Raghuram (VMWare), Karsanbhai (Emerson), Banga (World Bank), Leena Nair (Chanel), ......and the list goes on. China has a similar population to India, and yet cannot produce global CEOs at this rate. These are all products of the Indian education system.

Two reasons One is the price they are prepared to work for less money and for them it’s a lot more than in India either way so they put a lot of hard work to it (and many lot more hours than they are required) Two they are very good at studying as the pressure was always high in school so they truly learn thoroughly and hence have a good understanding and sound knowledge about their industry One more (bonus reason) In general Indian students are though to be confident and are great “can do attitude “ to the point where there is not a thing they would not know how to do (so even if they can’t do something- they say they can in hope they get hired ) “In general”

Hi dear, it is very good comparison for the education systems. I am living in Pune as an expat and I also faced some of your observations. What I think is if kids manage to take stress at school, they will be very successful in their upcoming life. Similar to your daughter, my daughter also faced adaptation issues for a long time. Even though she was 6 years old once we came to India (3 years back), it was very painful for her to go school and get new friends. Since girls have more sensitive feelings, they take more difficulties. Teachers helped a lot on this issue. Further, boys were more helpful than the girls in our case. They applied some positive discrimination to her during the games and all. So that she is okey now, not perfect but okey :)

In my time sending for turion was a shame as others will come to know that the child is weak. But now parents provide tuition to keep the child ahead in competition as now a days after 10,12 gr to get admissions in right field the cut point is 98_99%. Again depends on states. In north east all merits basis except reserved ones , depends on entrance exam with 60% required score to appear the test. Secondly, in India to get admissions in school coming from UK,USA, need to appear. entrance test and always get 4 level below. Again whoever goes from India to UK,USA, gets admission in 4 level high. Indian standard is quite high. That's what happened with my son and others I know who went outside India. Every state in India , academy year starts in different time. Like in east -January, west- July and as you said south- March. I am proud of Indian education . Produces CEOs of today's world's big companies.And many other being ahead.

@nealnorth5555 Oh, so you want to play Grammar game with me ? How about writing "Can't" instead of "Cant". Similarly it's "Don't" and not "Dont". Hope you know the difference ? Also, a sentence begins with a Capital Letter 😊 Oh, by the way, regarding your comment about "specially", it's an adverb. It's used when you want to convey " a particular/special reason". Hence in this case, it's not incorrect to use "specially"
@kirtigupta9753
@kirtigupta9753 2 ай бұрын
@@PK-nz5rg I will agree with you if I had used a "comparison". Let's understand with an example: E.g. ICSE and CBSE boards are generally accepted to be the Boards of choice for Engineering/Medical exams "especially" (here it means better than/exceptional than the other) CBSE board. Let's understand how "specially" can be used with an example. E.g. CBSE is preferable for Class 11 & 12 "specially"(here it means specifically) if you are preparing for Engg/Med exams. The difference between "specially" and "especially" is nuanced.

All your girl needs is few other girl or group of girls she can be friends with and of her similar age ... they'll help her ALOT subconsciously psychologically, do some changes to make this happen or get some girl from your neighborhood with whom your girl can go out shopping, eating, nails done etc. etc. let the teen girls be themselves. Plus if nothing works which won't be the case ... you can send her to UK later for higher studies when she has completed all her schooling. The main problem she is facing is lack of friends she could be genuinely open with and reason behind this is possibly you have enrolled her in curriculum which is non CBSE she is missing her friends her besties ... Give her new ones and you'll see wonders ... Fix it urgently before she takes more pressure subconsciously
@AgnesMann
@AgnesMann 2 ай бұрын
This is indeed the main issue but I can’t fix that. She cannot open to people here are the minute she does they don’t understand her struggles as they come from different environments. Kids are kids and especially if they don’t see her point (about what she dislikes ) they won’t like to hang around with her. Now she’s at that point where she is afraid to be open just for this reason. Her bad luck was that the once’s she did open up to were not good ones and she learned her lesson. Sad but true
@SJ_new
@SJ_new 2 ай бұрын
@@AgnesMann it's ok but still keep on encouraging her and tell her it's ok if they don't understand her , she can be with others no need to be disheartened there are better people, they do exist, not all are same ... you know old proverb: rome was not built in a day. She tried that is a sign of progress, welcome it. Don't loose hope it's only a slow pace but progress is there. Another reason take note is you are in tier 2 or tier 3 city so you have lesser western thinking, habits, mindset kids/people around you, if you ever so need in future consider moving to major 'Tier 1' city which feels like London and in that too only select and live in posh locality for example South Delhi and similar in Mumbai ... there your girl will find like minded friends and feel more at home at ease. And meanwhile I'll give you a top tip: take your daughter out daily in the evening to new places, markets, or places of different errands in your surroundings, try not to repeat any spots. This will give her things to talk, start a conversation, able be a bit more outward when she's within potential friends. You always have the option to move to a tier one city if so then do sooner for your daughter before your boys get attached with their new friends. Basically do all necessary to give your daughter friends she needs in teenage ... do all it takes she'll thank you later 👍🏻😊 give her social life. You focussing her on French is also a major hurdle, put her on Hindi so she can co-relate with her upcoming new friends easily and know when some of them are ill talking behind her back, this seems minor to you but for teens it's way way bigger. I hope you grasp all these points and form a plan. YOU CAN FIX THIS ... believe in yourself first then radiate this confidence in her. Join some cooking classes in which you both mother daughter can participate together and she will get opportunity to meet other mom daughter duo or dance classes etc. etc. There are plenty of ways to turn this around keep doing until you succeed be determined. Teaching her Hindi is must as she'll be able to integrate more with help of tv, songs, bollywood etc. etc. try talking with her around her in Hindi ease her in without even knowing, i could think of million way to help her , you can too. So get your tough Hat on now. Best wishes 👍🏻

It not about school it's about system eventually they would be required to attempt jee/other competitive exams their score will determine how well they do in corporate and if they opt to pursue other field(arts) it full of holes with very little opportunity and corruption like in modeling or others also keep in mind Indian exams don't not teach skills if you fail you don't have anything to showcase. And exams are designed to eliminate competition hence they have very little time to think on each question just cram formula to pass is the easy way out. This is without considering incompetence of institutions such as schools or colleges.

@@AgnesMann I'm Undergraduate Student preparing for IIT JEE entrance exam(an Engineering entrance exam) which 3rd most Toughest Exam in the world. I feel the pressure is too much. But Quality of Education in IIT college is top notch. Most of successful Indian Startups & Top US companies CEO are IITian. The environment for research and innovation is also very good. In 70 to 80% Indian Education is good but in Some States of Indian Education is not good. And the Indian education system is improving very fast. After a few years, the Indian education system will be very good. And if we talk about UK, the education system there is very good. The population there is also very less and the education system is being handled well. If seen from a holistic perspective, the UK education system is better than the Indian education system at present. But the Indian education system is improving very fast. Kids of your daughter's age need a social life too. However , it's hard to say , whether in India or in Europe , how much would any academic qualifications would remain relevant given the monumental changes in technology ( Generative AI especially ) that seem to be breaking the conceptual mould of learning . I'm sure you'd do what you think is best for your kids. However, it'd be nice to keep an eye out for the way things are progressing in the Ukraine war because that just might play a large role in your decision to move to Europe . If the war expands and turns into a Russia vs NATO slugfest , it would certainly not be good for just about anyone especially people in Europe.

In Kerala, you can get better education in Govt. schools for free and less than 60 thousand per kid in a very good private school. @@AgnesMann this is exactly my point. India the pressures are immense around an acedemic where as in UK it is well rounded grooming. Also my older daughter is now 8 she is at Grade 3 of ABRSM in piano. Doing just 30 mins every week. Not sure why you would need to teach for 5 days each week. She is at advance stage of swimming as well as drama. Here there are lots of extra curricular options compared with India. Sports and others are formalised teaching with a systematic approach. Formal assessments to aid your learning. These also add to UCAS points while gaining admission to university. Many children are moving to UK for higher education and then to get jobs. If it was good in India why would they be inclined to do that. For facts in India doctors engineers and mba there are 30% unemployed. A question to think?

Most learners have tuitions because the level of teaching in the school isn't good enough to get them through the exams with the best grades. In India, you're paying twice. Once for the school, which isn't good enough in terms of teaching, and then for the tutors to get them through. In the UK, you could send them to state school and then get tutors, if needed.

In India there are many good Schools. Some are run by central government and some are by state governments. In fact South education is more intensive than North. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Hyderabad has very good schools. English is very good in those schools. Some North Indian schools are also good for example Deharadoon Schools. It all depends on where do you want to stay and your affordability. As you said, academic studies are good. They are good in Maths and Sciences. Practicality is bit less. Also it is because of socio economic situation. India is a large country and was ruled by foreign invaders for a long. Islamic rulers impose Urdu, Arabic etc on Indian people. British Imposed their own way of learning. In this transition India lost its traditional way of learning. In western countries people solely depends on computers for small calculations in Grocery shops and in retail shops. Where as in India everything is brain work. Good and bad is every where. I forget to tell you one thing. Worlds first University started by Indians. Taxasila University, Nalanda University etc. They started 300 BC and 1 AD. Students all over the world use to come and study so many disciplines. They use to have greates libraries with so many scripts and literature. Islamic invasions destroy them.

Kids don’t have to go to university at all. These days it’s a financial knowledge that’s important more than school education. School does not teach how to thrive but how to survive and get stuck in a matrix of taxes. We need to relearn what we learned and understand how to live life well and that’s not necessarily from going to university. The choice will be theirs and we will fund their education whichever way they will choose to go but ultimately we tell them it’s the financial knowledge they need to gain and sadly schools don’t teach that

@@Futurebhartiya I agree, in India, every English speaking person is considered as educated person. But they are actually literate person not educated

That is not the case actually- in England everyone gets basic education until the age of 16- so they can’t be illiterate- but that’s not to say they are considered highly educated - this term is reserved to those that go to uni only

Education is turning students as stupid, lazy, unhealthy and the list is endless. For more information please watch the videos of sadguru about the education.

Yes it does need improvement. It puts too much pressure on kids but at the same time- those that do well- get great jobs and become great people

The problem is during teen age, the bodily changes happen and it is very difficult to control the mind, whether boy or girl. Therefore, will be better if you want to return to any country you like when the children are at very young age. At young age, children will not feel the difference between lifestyle of different countries, since they have a very clear mind. Also the word "independent" is used very loosely. None is independent on this earth.

@@AgnesMannso it means gov education is free but private education people have to pay? If its true then, Its similar to Indian education system only difference is gov education is very bad in India & private one depends on how much you can spend according to that you'll get best quality education. Is it still the same case in uk?
