Hello Belarch, We are delighted that our video helped you and thank you for watching! Yes, we would agree that waiting a while for the ground to dry out is a good thing. If the soil is too wet, the harrow will form clods depending on your soil type. If it's too dry, you won't be successful either. We would recommend continual experimenting from time to time and you will know when the right conditions are present as you will be able to see some good cutting results! Your first goal, of course, would be to get rid of those cornstalks which can be challenging with smaller harrows, and discing your plot in alternating swatch directions will be a plus as each different angle you run, will cut the stalks into smaller pieces leading to a quicker decay process. Hello Steve, Yes, this will work on your single row harrow. Turning the blades to the inside will be fine. Starting with the point of the V towards the tractor would likely give you a more aggressive cutting action. We suggest that you take the time to make multiple trips across your plot and after a couple of cuts, you may have to gradually start adjusting it the other way. In order to maintain a somewhat level area, another good idea would be to place the center of your tractor in the slot made between the passes and continue making your swaths across the plot. That way your final cut will likely be less of an angle as you are mainly leveling things out. On your multiple passes, it's also a good idea to run at a 45-degree angle some of the time in order to make good shaping of the area reducing both hills and holes. We hope this is helpful!
