HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

My niece gave me a small teddy bear before I deployed. It was subsequently "borrowed" by others in the Squadron. That thing has hundreds of pictures of its... adventures...? (Some of which she has not, nor WILL EVER see!) "Bear" has flown in several different airframes (mostly fighters and bombers) and with 5 different Nations. He has trained with 3 police forces, the Royal Marines (UK flavor), and commanded satellites in orbit! Lord knows what all he did, because it was Classified... Likely story... anyway That bear has enough combat time to rate several medals & more flight hours than some pilots get in a career. (All within about 8 months!) Never underestimate the danger of reminding those who fight of what they are protecting... to the enemy, that is!

I have a theory. The Triumvirate was composed of a race of carnivorous reptiles, adaptable mammals, and an insectile hive mind. What if the hive mind was temporarily linking all 3, the human cuteness response mixed with the draconian pheromones, all linked by a hive mind. It would make them practically unstoppable.

🐻❤👍🐿 I can't remember what it's called but humans are actually susceptible to a chemical reaction in our system that occurs when we see "cute" babies regardless of the species. This reaction causes us to want to hold and protect said "baby" at pretty much any cost. Sounds like the "cuteness" literally woke the sleeping dragon.
