I share the sentiment. This is how I see them: J-hope is the best entertainer, he shines on stage, has stg special when performin, RM is thoughtful and mature, great lyricist, and Suga is intensity, raw emotion and depth ( which I incline to :)). I believe thats why theyre incredible together.

Honestly I think the diversity that these three bring (and the vocalists too, in their own way) are what make BTS such an incredible group. But yeah, i've been a metalhead my entire life so when I started telling everyone that I was really into BTS they were shocked. But what I keep telling them is Suga/Agust D is the most metal rapper I have ever heard. Like, if he ever decided to record a metal album I don't think I would ever need to wish for anything in life again.

I think it's really tough to compare J-Hope with the other 2. They are all different kinds of rappers but I do think J-Hope deviates the most from what people usually expect from contemporary rap. Suga is certainly more aggressive and generally emotional whereas Namjoon is more intellectual, but they are more on a similar lane, preferring speed and hard-hitting raps. J-Hope however, seems to really go a different direction. Even though he is capable of rapping fast as seen in tear, or sound aggressive if he wants to as you can see in "UGH", ultimately it's just not his thing. His style is very laid back and he puts emphasis on different aspects such as flow and delivery. His songs always have the weirdest ad-libs and you can tell he wants to make music that he can move his body to; "rap that shaped to the rhythm of my body” - J-Hope in Base Line. I'm very appreciative that you didn't discredit him. I always get scared when people start comparing them since I've seen many commentators, especially male ones, say that Suga or Namjoon are more talented than him simply because he doesn't go as fast as them. Or they have less respect for J-Hope because he wasn't an underground rapper and "only" learned to rap when he joined bighit. But honestly, to me, these are reasons to admire him even more. Considering the fact that he had that a 4-year disadvantage and he never even intended to be a rapper but now is able to share a stage with phenomenal rappers like Namjoon and Suga and hold his own speaks for his hard work. I'm glad he has found his own style, it's unconventional and it certainly brings a certain flavor to the table that is unique to him.

Yeah, J-Hope is a vibe that is just different from the other two. There are reasons why they rap about the things that each guy raps about. As you already know, he can really go at in Tear and the Cyphers. What those songs have involve pain, fear, and/or anger emotions because of the topic. Hobi’s purpose/goal in his mixtape is different, so it makes sense why the songs are so different. Btw, my favorite from his mixtape is a b-side which is Baseline.

Suga is my fave. He is genius, but I like and appreciate all our rapline.

J Hopes ending in TEAR is extraordinary, almost crying. It is a spectacular performance. This was such a great reaction. We are all in love with these 3 rappers.

What makes BTS not boring is that they have stunning personalities, over flowing talent and interesting flavours in music.

Yoongi is my bias and when he first dropped his first AgustD mixtape I almost flatlined five times. Whenever he releases new music it is like the highlight of the year.

some FYI: RM Joke came out in 2015 before they ever had a number 1 in Korea....the track he used was Run The Jewel's Oh My Darling. Agust D came out in 2016 when they had become moderately successful in Korea and started gaining more globally...Suga made most of the beats for the mixtape...did you catch the James Brown sample of It's A Man's World at the beginning? Jhope's Airplane from his HopeWorld mixtape came out in 2018 after they had become global superstars....Jhope also made most of the beats for his mixtape. I believe the other members are gang vocals on the track. Also, the verse you said was your fave inspired the song Airplane pt. 2 and is used word for word in that track also. All of this is to say that these 3 mixtapes come at very different periods of their career. RM and Suga still had a lot of anger towards the people who had been mistreating them. As Suga pointed out in his last vlive, he no longer has any anger towards anyone. If you want more info on these mixtapes, you can watch each of them discuss the behind scenes on vlive app. RM put out his second mixtape that he said was more of a playlist than a mixtape called mono towards the end of 2018 and it is starkly different than his first mixtape. Then, as you know, we just got D-2. Jhope said previously he wasn't in any hurry to do another mixtape and he said he was disappointed that HopeWorld didn't bring him the recognition he had hoped for. I am not sure what kind of recognition he wanted but it outsold everything despite being available for free...it was very well received. If you haven't yet, I very strongly suggest that you do full listens to these mixtapes in the order that they were released. You can see the growth and the increase in budget, etc....btw when members do a mixtape, they have to pay for everything themselves and that is why there is no big hit intro to the mvs or anything....bighit does have to approve it and helps get it out to the public etc. but the money comes from the member themselves.

I agree with everything you said about joke except that the lyrics are meaningless. There is so much word play and metaphor in that song it's insane, there is not one word on that song that is not intentional. This is full on 148 IQ rapping Also it felt unfair to compare JHope's more mellow song to August D and Joke, some of his other songs would have been a better fit even if they don't have MVs

You can't compare the three of the Rappers. Hope is my favorite out of the rappers because of the lyrical lilt he adds to the rap style with is so unique. No one else does that. That said, I also love Suga and Joon because they truly express their frustration in the most creative ways possible. It's three styles that need to be there to bring contrast in the best way. They repaint the world whenever they rap.

I absolutely love all 3 of their styles and cadences. I have to admit that Joke is one of my all time favorites!! Agust D is unreal!! His fast flow gets me every time! I love the angst!

j-hope sings backing vocals for many songs. I wouldn't doubt that he does most of the layering in Airplane. Also, he's a chameleon. The vocal fry is an affectation for individuality as far as I can tell. His voice can be as smooth as butter.

Jhope is my ultimate bias but I love all of them. But as a Jhope biased who listened to both old and current Jhope (One Verse, Hope World mixtape), I like his current style now (more specifically, I like his part in "outro tear," "ugh," and "On" (not many talk about how amazing he sounds in ON). P.S. it's okay to be bias wrecked by another BTS member. Namjoon was my first bias till Jhope bias wrecked me and became my bias.

I always think members of the Rapline can't be compared with each other because they have different way on attacking their song/part. It's just that I prefer J-hope's style because you can vibe to it anytime. I also love his take on the lyrics 😊 his mixtape is very successful that he's the member with the biggest net worth (USD16M) in BTS because of it.

Mono (RM) is a playlist not exactly a mixtape so keep that in mind when you react to it. Actually I think the whole mixtape is like a big song It's important to react to it in order because the lyrics are an experience and I think It's better to do it all at once It's more chill than the other mixtapes but I think It's very deep and healing but what he says actually can be like a slap to your face I also would recommend you life from his first mixtape I think this playlist really can change your life it sure did mine and I know a lot of people that ended up crying.

I'm pretty certain that Yoongi knew what STD stands for. I know he was flowing with spelling his name out but I also think he knows the acronym as well, and thus it can also be seen as a shock factor. When he says "I'm a D boy cause I'm from the D" he's is referencing Daegu, the town he grew up in. Of course again. This is Yoongi we are talking about. I'm convinced he is secretly fluent in English and he just likes feign ignorance. Or at the very least he did some research and knows there is a double meaning. More interesting fact. When he says 난 미친놈 비트 위의 루나틱 랩으로 홍콩을 보내는 my tongue technology. The translation is very loose in the cc. The actual meaning is quite a bit dirtier. And that's saying a bit. And thus why I think the above about the rest of his lyrics. I'm probably a little biased since he is my bias. But the boy is a genius when it comes to music. I believe he has been producing music longer than the other members (close second would be RM). As for Joke and Airplane...I'm still confused where RM took a breath in Joke. And I have to say as far as RM goes I'm a bigger fan of the Mono mixtape. Airplane wasn't my favorite, but I like some other tracks on Hope World, and am proud of J-hope. There's definitely a unique quality to J-hope's raping, and I haven't found anyone comparable. And we are still waiting for Jungkook to drop a mixtape.

you have to keep in mind that Jhope doesn't rap when he entered the company, he is an underground dancer but he started rapping when he saw the other boys rapping too. And Hoseok's rap is really different from Yoongi and Namjoon. I kinda see his rap as the bouncy, flowy and entertaining vibe. while yoongi's aggressive and fast and rm's fast and solid flow and I really like how he pronounce his words too. but all them can actually be versatile. Hobi can go off and rap so fast and aggressive and Yoongi can do slow and deep voice rapping. and RM? what can I say he really is so versatile too and can do both too. plus their lyrics are so good.

The diversity and TALENT of our rapline. Incredible soloists, incredible team. UNTOUCHABLE. Also, Hobi layered with himself. He's a vocalist too and you hear it a lot on his mixtape. But it's just him. :) Editing to add that I prefer more upbeat raps too but this is one of two mellow songs on his album. The first three are sort of funky/dance with heavy vocal components (think Daydream, Ego), the next two are more modern western hip-hop sounding, and then the last two (which include Airplane and the outro) are mellow and vibey. It's a very diverse album. Fun fact: The BTS song "Airplane pt. 2" is inspired by this song and J-Hope's verse in Airplane pt. 2 is the second verse in this one.

ARMYS like the saying that say "Namjoon(RM) analyses the world, Yoongi(SUGA/AGUSTD) criticises the world and Hoseok(J-HOPE) visualises the world" + RM always said that 'Joke' was more about showinf his skills in changing and trying differents flows than the lyrics + For your question regarding whenever if the others members harmonize(?? sorry english isnt my first language) with J-Hope in airplane , I remember reading somewhere that they join in the 'AIRPLANE' in the last chorus ? But i'm not 100% sure so its just an assumption ^^ for the rest of the song its him that layer with his own voice (?) + Hobi is know for his really good adlibs in the bgm of a lot of BTS' songs, for exemple BAEPSAE adlibs all (or almost all of them) are by him + When J-Hope released his mixtape he said that he want to be a piece of peace for peoples, help them in their lower moments and bring hope to them and I think he really lives up to this... Actually Suga is my favorite although I love RM and J-HOPE too. They all have very different styles. One thing is that Suga doesn’t actually said some sexual words but AgustD comes from reverse of Suga + his hometown Daegu D. Suga -> Agus + Dt(Daegu Town) -> td = AgustD That’s why he said “because I’m from D”. And he is one of the fastest rappers in Korea, he raps an average of 8.8 syllables in a second! Yeah, comparing them in this setting is really not good. They have such different vibes. RM is consistent genius, but i need a certain mood to listen to him, either sad/serene for mono. Or mighty pissed for RM. When i need to fight through bad shit I go for my rolemodel, because Agust D is so effing raw and powerful, and so, so helpful. BUT, for a day to be good from the beginning, to create a mood i want to have for my day, I go for Hope World. It's a mixtape that makes everything ok, and if someone still manages to fuck with my mood, then it's Agust D all over again :D Except right now, it would be D-2, because that one is the best of them all.
