It would explain the fanaticism in his troops chanting his name despite being marooned in a different galaxy for 9 years. Also, cannibalism is mentioned, yes? I'm assuming Thrawn developed a taste for stormtroopers to help ration their early years, while certain deserters went off to become the bandits we see Skoll and Hati meet next episode.

Enoch's mask is a traditional Roman cavalry face mask, it is meant to serve a similar function to the Japanese samurai masks or the pig helmets knights wore, to bring fear by taking out the human face and changing it with something inhuman, demonic or monstrous. In my opinion the Roman helmet is easily the creepiest and they are invoking a greatly similar feel here.

My hunch is that most (if not all) of Thrawn's troopers are dead and have been resurrected by the witches' magic(k). Thrawn and Ezra are the one ones that actually survived after the star destroyer stranded there 9 years ago. All of the containers they are loading for the jump back into the main galaxy are also deceased troopers and will be brought back to life once they arrive and need a larger army.

He's in part disappointed and frustrated with what Sabine did not only as one of the people who bested him once but also as a fellow warrior of which Thrawn identifies as. Peridea seems pretty clearly named after the word "perdition," an outcast state of punishment after death. There's no doubt the Great Mothers bear a certain corrupted resemblance to the Force Priestesses of the Wellspring; I think your Napoleon interpretation (a return from exile) will work for them as well, and it seems very possible that the power of the Wellspring is what Baylan is agitating toward.

I definitely think the Rakatans are the end game here. I think it's telling that Baylon says the mothers are fleeing something even more powerful than themselves, and kind of implies they may have first come to the SW galaxy for the same reason. So like, they come to the SW galaxy, the Rakatans follow them, conquer it, and then the ancient uprising Luthen refers to in Andor drove them back across the void. An ancient species steeped in the force that once built unprecedented weapons and monuments would both be something the nightsisters would fear and someone like Baylon would want to seek out

The problem I have is that while Feloni hasn't minded modifying some canon....he's been pretty much still keeping things consistent. The Rakatans were not from another galaxy, they were from the Unknown regions, which is also where Ahch-To and Exegol were located, along with where the Chiss are from. If he is bringing back from Legends a more realistic outside galaxy race, it may be the Yuuzhan Vong.

Hi from Ecuador, just loved that the resurrected stormtroopers have Kintsugi, which roughly translates as 'joining with gold' (kin is 'gold' and tsugi is 'join'). It is a centuries-old Japanese repair technique which uses urushi (Japanese lacquer) dusted with powdered gold to restore broken ceramic and porcelain vessels. The witches must have made that spell! Incredible!

I’m going to make a bold exclamation and say what’s calling to Baylon is simply The Mother. Let’s think about How The Witches hold extreme diverse powers, and would also seemingly need a deity to reflect their magic. The father represents Balance, Daughter Is The Light, and The Son is the Dark… Ao the Mother could represent the Mysticism of the Nightsisters Magic; seeking to be freed from her prison where she was banished and forgotten.

The emotions that I felt seeing Ezra, and Sabine interacting again after so long was such an impact moments it was so sureal as a rebel fan Seeing Lars Mikkelsen absolutely nail the Live action adaptation of thrawn just as he did in rebels was so beautiful, and so special to see. Overall in my opinion I genuinely believe that episode 6 is up there with Episode 5 for best episode of the series This episode felt like rebels throughout ,and it was so special. I can't wait for the final 2 episode to see how this story concludes its gonna be really awesome, and really special that's for sure.

Seeing Thrawn in live action really hits home as to why the Chiss aren't known to be force sensitive. If the forces is about feeling the currents of life and energy through the universe the Chiss appear to be too analytical, and strategical to adhere or even perceive the force.

Notcied most of them, but funnily enough I did not notice #21. I was actually surprised and then not suprised how well Thrawns uniform looked and for once I saw the authority and power it shows to wear such a daper military uniform. Very neat touches on the damage, I didn't see them at all I was looking at how well kept it looked, rather than any damage it had. I also think when Baylan was speaking on breaking hte cycle it sounded so much like Kreia's ambition in Kotor 2. Since we've been getting alot of Kotor easter eggs, this feels like another one.

You could also interpret the "History of the Galaxies Part, 1, 2 and 3" being the three trilogies, but "Part 1 being the best" referring to the Original Trilogy as it was the first trilogy released. And, it's pretty universal among fans that the OT is the best.

Homeschooled Jedi! 😂 I enjoyed it a lot. It was a slow burn but there was quite a bit to digest. Thrawn’s announcement was perfect. Really loved Thrawn’s Kintsugi Nighttroopers. Gold joining the shattered armor pieces and the crimson Night magik ribbons bonding the dead to the world of the living. And the Captain’s helmet face, reminded me of an ancient Roman calvary helmet. That was a sweet touch. Also, we got to know more about General Baylan Skoll! Can’t wait for next week to learn about Ezra’s time on this new world. Ahsoka and Andor are the Zenith of Disney Star Wars. They are on the opposite ends of what I love. One is a gritty, political spy thriller based history and the other is a fantasy based on SW mythology, force magik and the cosmic and living force.

Enoch wasn't the only one who had the armor held together by gold. I wonder if it's also a reference to what kintsugi also meant. Besides the meaning of putting together something broken and creating something even stronger (which could mean the hardships they faced after they became stuck) but there is also an old poem about a servant that broke a porcelain peace. It was something worthy of death penalty, but the servant repaired the porcelain peace instead, using the kintsugi and calming his masters wrath. Maybe there is a bit of a hint to how Thrawn didn't abandon his men and made them even more obedient out of gratitude. To them Thrawn is probably their savior.

Given that Enoch was a biblical character who supposedly ascended directly into heaven as a human (i.e. he didn't die), I can't help but wonder if the Enoch in Ahsoka is the lone trooper in Thrawn's throngs of Night Troopers who is actually still alive (i.e. as opposed to being resurrected, as I suspect is the case with all the troopers donning red threads).

I commented last week on that episode's parallels to Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises and I gotta point out that in this episode, it's hard not to feel like Baylan's remark that Peridea is a "land of dreams and madness" is very similar to the title of the documentary about Studio Ghibli's release of both The Wind Rises and Tale of the Princess Kaguya, which is called The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness.

When Thrawn says "you gamble the fate of your galaxy.." Its worth noting in the Thrawn books, he detected a greater threat and the whole idea of siding with the Empire was that the "Empire's Galaxy" was the only power to stand up to that hidden threat in the unknown part of the galaxy. I think Balen might sense the hidden threat or maybe the force sensitive Chiss that were used for hyperspace travel.

The parallel I thought of on first watch was to Disney’s Hercules and Greek Mythology! You have Peridea as the underworld, the three witches who directly talk to Thrawn telling him about their visions of the future just like the three fates talking to hades about the threads of the future, and I have a feeling a lot of those stormtroopers Thrawn is leading are not living, just like how Hades looking over the dead. Just some random thoughts!

In The Books Heir to the empire, Thrawn uses a small creature to neutralize the force in his general area: Quote: Ysalamiri were lizard-like tree-dwellers about 50 centimeters in length native to the planet Myrkr, most known for their ability to repel the Force by creating a Force-neutral bubble. This ability evolved in response to predation by the Force-sensitive vornskrs. Many ysalamiri grouped together would expand their Force-neutral bubble by varying distances-sometimes by kilometers., I think the turtle people have the same ability, they hid Ezra from the witches and Thrawn
