if DALL-E 2 has any weaknesses, it’s that it can’t do words/writing at all. it’s wild how it takes any words in a prompt and just… jumbles it like that.

This is what their “Risks and Limitations” document has to say about text generation: “DALL·E 2 currently has a very limited ability to render legible text. When it does, text may sometimes be nonsensical and could be misinterpreted. It’s important to track this capability as it develops, as image generative models may eventually develop novel text generation capabilities via rendering text.” The last line is particularly interesting, since it seems to suggest the system may learn to create text… on its own.

I love how the AI used followed the Coke/hamburger problem all the way to the end using the correct answer, and then on the last step used the made an error and gave the “common mistake” answer people guess without thinking. Somehow the AI is both using system 1 and system 2.

AI programs actually work just fine, the only reason they look bad is companies doesn't want to put heavy loads on their servers. If you run an AI program locally on your own computer, you can get much higher resolution and detailed pictures. Ofcourse it takes more time and needs lots of vram. Like here 03:53 it was about to be a pig maybe after 10 or 15 steps but server doesn't give you that much steps for image so it stayed uncompleted

One of the things I tried with GPT-3 was give it ingredients for a recipe of... how to build a nuclear facility. I typed in: _Make a recipe for a nuclear facility from the following ingredients:_ _1. Concrete_ _2. Metal beams_ _3. Reactor parts_ _4. Electricity system parts_ And the AI started writing how it would build a concrete foundation with metal beams fitted in for other structures and places for the reactor and other system parts. In very low detail, of course. But still impressive that it used the "ingredients" as one would guess.

Speaking of Pinocchio, there is this Pinocchio movie that is about a boy who died in WW1 and gets revived by a weird angel thing that was from the original Pinocchio as a wooden puppet that looks more scary than the original Pinocchio design, was actually kinda terrifying.
