if he will upload a non-sponsored review, then what is this video for? to tell us he got one? the hate did not come from nothing, it's the video cuts when asked for online data, the fact that R1 should be LAM but nothing was mentioned about that function, the fact that any AI app does the same and he went to compared it with siri, list goes on, that shows bias to the sponsor without honesty.

This is not a complicated concept and the fact that you’re struggling to grasp it is concerning. The full review where he can go in depth about the pros and cons is next. This is what is called propaganda or shutdown speech....no one is "hating" on Matt. We're pointing out the fact that it is clearly not a direct and non biased review. Those who follow AI know this, unfairly... Those who don't may take this review as non sponsored and a 1 to 1 comparison when it absolutely is not. Trust can't be earned then expected not to be called into question later.

If someone has trouble understanding that it’s a sponsored video after listening to the first 5 seconds, they should seek professional help because their brain is broken. Your points are completely irrelevant and your claims are obviously unfounded.

yeah that is the problem with current generation of LLM, the answer may sound/look good but it may be totally wrong. This unreliability limits a lot real usage where the wrong answer may results in actions/omissions important for the user.

These devices are going to get wrecked for hallucinating specific things, IMHO. I've also noticed AI models are really bad at determining when certain things were built if they have to pick a specific time from a set of dates. The newer ones are better, but the old ones were horrible. Slightly over half of the AI models I've tested can't give an accurate date if they are forced to choose just one date. For example, I'd like to see someone ask the Rabbit the exact date the space shuttle Challenger was finally built. Depending on when you consider it "done" the correct answer should be a date in February 1978, but the models will say things like its first flight date or worse, the date it blew up.

@@Magnum-kz9ut The plan is for an "app" store for the skills you teach it. Like Android or iOS, they will take a fee from each sale. Lets unskilled people just get their hands on a skill that have no interest or ability to teach it themselves. Their costs for Perplexity are probably around 10 requests for a penny, so not a lot to recoup... If $10 of the original purchase cost was set aside for inference, that's roughly your first 10,000 queries covered... Jesse's a pretty smart guy if you watch some interviews with him.

Rabbit themselves actually made an uncut 1 hour-ish video where they compared their device to the Humane Pin, covering most of the use-cases they could think of which are shared by the devices.

Already have one of these on order. Only 200 bucks made it an easy to trigger to pull, even if it turns out to be nothing more than a fun toy in the end. That large action model looks pretty snappy. Definitely a different experience than the Humane Pin and it's 10 secondish response time. looking forward to getting mine (I'm in the 2nd shipment, so mid-summer I think?)

same, I have one and got it for the LAM to train it. That part isn't live yet, but thought it would be something I would get for my kid. It could answer any question and isn't R rated. It has a sim so they don't need a phone. It is a lot faster to pick up and hit one button and right away use it instead of unlocking my phone, opening an app, then asking question. It is super fast at response too, way fast, like local models response speed

tbh, the only thing i really care about with this product is "teach mode", and I only care about teach mode if it's capable of using software outside of a browser environment. Outside of that, it's just a novelty.

It looks cool, but like everyone else I don't see why it can't be a phone app. In the near future it most certainly will be, so I think this is kind of like an iPod, where the tech will last a year or two before you just use your phone to do the same task because it's much more adaptable.

It’s about the interface. Technically you can just install perplexity app and get similar results, however you are confined to a screen. The dedicated device is what Siri should have been

Don't know about query, but likely coming if not already. They just demo'd it transcribing a hand written spreadsheet from the camera and swapping two of the columns and it was emailed to them in 5 seconds in a live demo.

I'm very geeked about this. There were a lot of comments on the recent demo comparing it to phones. It shouldn't be compared to phones at all except as an eventual replacement for them. Rabbit is reimagining UI/UX completely with a new technology. The UI/UX for phones (especially the form factor) is mostly locked in, making it very difficult to introduce significant changes. Rabbit has so much room to experiment and refine right now and they're doing a hell of a job at it. Rabbit is leading the competition (what little there is) in defining the next "can't live without" device, and it's a shot across the bow to all other personal computing/creation/entertainment devices. Your vid just pushed me off the fence Matt. It's time for me to order one.

Ti everyone that doubts the validity of this device, it is a first attempt. It will be refined, improved and the software constantly updated. I had the very first MP3 player which held around five poor quality mp3s on it. People wondered why have it when a portable cd player held more. Things improve, but this is a brave new device which opens a new era. It also plays music.

Well, it is sponsored video, BUT it does cover it fairly. I can't imagine why would people be annoyed about it. And yes, it aggregates lots of interesting and useful concepts that may be available on phones soon, but not at the moment, so... Yes... It is an interesting gadget. It seems to really care about community reviews and requests, and the developer delivered a nice and well finished product. I'm considering to get one since I saw the original presentation from the dev.

Look, the entire point of this is there is no longer a need for phone apps (or a smartphone at all). You will see this is the way things will be moving forward. If you don't like it, it doesn't matter; this is the way things will be. People who drove horses and buggies didn't like cars either. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Read "Innovator's Dilemma" or just ask ChatGPT to read it for you. Apple is struggling internally right now because they knew this day would come. What do you do if you are Apple? Nobody is going to pay $200 for a phone app. Moreover, Rabbit is aware that Google and Apple are planning to integrate such apps directly into their phone operating systems, which would put Rabbit's app at a disadvantage. Releasing a completely new form factor at an affordable price seems to be the only way for a startup to disrupt the market.

It is much faster then the devices I've seen so far, I've seen the demo I think two days ago made by Jesse and I was really surprised about the speed. But most I like the transcriptions especially as they really seem to understand you correctly. I use one on my samsung and it makes so many mistakes even with an native English speaker. By now there might be better ones in the latest Samsungs, I don't know, but I usually keep my smartphone up-to-date with everything... And getting a transcription with full stops, commas (at the right places XD) and just the right expressions... that would be really helpful.

What is cut about when you asked about UFC bout and she said "searching now" and there is a cut before she answers, seems like you cut the answering time down

The hilarious part is that it's actually hallucinating some or all of the answer to the UFC question since May 4 is two weekends from now, and some of the fighters it mentions aren't even on the card for 301.
