I'm more curious about Date's whereabouts, I really love their dynamics

Honestly hope they can keep the game humorous. I remember the original promotion for the first somnium files was so dark, I never had it on my radar. It was only later when funny moment trailers started popping up that I actually got the game. Deeply hope this game is as good as it’s predecessor if not better. It’s a high bar to be sure. Just don’t be a downer game like so much out there is nowadays.

I played the game but I completely forgot what happened to Date to justify his absence on this sequel, does anyone know?

@@deidarasete I remember he appears in one of the trailers, but for some reason he has his old body (Saitos body). Confusing stuff. I saw a post where the director said Date will play a big role in the story, so that’s good to hear.

@@deidarasete The thing is there are several possible conclusions to the game. A lot of debate concerns which conclusion does this game proceed from. I’d like to hope this is from the best happy ending since a few characters who appear here did not survive in other routes. My personal guess as to why Date is absent is that he’s an early victim of this new half body serial killiings which led to his ward becoming a somnium investigator herself. The identity of the new co-protagonist is an unknown but I wonder why he seems to have a physical resemblance to Date’s original body, like a young clone? Also, there’s this interconnectivity between routes that may complicate how the plot of this game unfolds as well. June can’t come soon enough for me. I frankly don’t have anything else on my radar to look forward to other than this,

@@gab_v250 It can’t. They showed Date in the first main trailer and he was still in Saito’s body. I was thinking they might switch between Saito and Falco depending on if you have the spoilers for the first game on or off, but idk I’d they’d go through that effort.

Me too. Hopefully there's still a lot of jokes in this one, hoping Date's dumbness rubbed off just a bit on Mizuki. I also want more Aiba being obsessed with bugs (maybe she'll have a ant farm! Or a pet ladybug!)

@@ms.pirate maybe I should have said something nicer? 😆 I just love everything about the first game, and I couldn't imagine it without Date making dirty jokes every two minutes, or checking out the mermaid's hips, smelling shoes, wishing his sound system was that big, or making Aiba do dumb things (which for some reason work half the time) Date's my favorite character so I'm a little sad that there won't be as much of him in this game as there was the first. 😅

Why would you? Mizuki isn't Date 2.0. She isn't an old perv with trauma and amnesia galore, among other things... It is literally impossible for them to have the same relationship/dynamic.

@@philatio1744 Cool, I guess there are flasbacks or time travel as suggested in the trailers. Obviously, the mermaid and Iris cannot still in high schoo after 6 years yet they show in their final year uniform in the trailers. Nevertheless, looking forward to it

@@luisugalde6956 From what i can gather, this is the structure: Side:Ryuki, where you play as him as the protag, is set six years in the past (that’s why you see Mizuki small, which means its set immediately after the first game). Then, there’s Side: Mizuki, set 6 years later. Mizuki is now 18, and the “right part of the body” that they mention in the trailer suddenly appears. You can even see proof of this in the trailer!

@@philatio1744 Good sumary. That is probably the case. The fcat that I have many questions even before starting the game is acually quite cool. I like that. Either way, this is probaly set in Misuki's branch after the main game. Hope to get the game as soon as I can.

Since there's new main characters I don't think we have to worry about the porno mag jokes since that used to be a mostly exclusive thing to Date. For your second point Uchikoshi confirmed in an interview last week that the Somnia puzzles are now indeed less trial & error and even if you get stuck somewhere you can now ask Aiba for hints

This IS a new Zero Escape since it features characters from the Zero Escape series and Danganronpa only recently got a new game

@@SomniumClips it doesn't have characters from Zero Escape. And the new Danganronpa isn't even a real Danganronpa game. Danganronpa S is basically a new version of a board game from Danganronpa V3.
