Nice review as always! Great to see a budget alternative to the Wooting! 👍 It makes the keyboard market a bit spicey now 😁 It will push other brands to implement rapid trigger on their gaming board like 4K polling rates for gaming mice!

I will set actuation and rapid trigger to 0.4mm on ALT and F4. All other keys can stay default. I will be the fastes rage-quitter ever!

Can you rebind fn key to caps lock for example? rebinding fn keys should be essential for small gaming keyboards

There's a 75% rapid trigger keyboard too, the Drunk Deer A75. Sounds great out of the box with the stabs needing NO mods whatsoever. Lubing the switches does get rid of the the very very slight spring ping

I just bought the Drunk Deer a75, do you think this one is better or it just depends on preference? Is the rapid trigger the same for both? I play Valorant and I bought it because I heard it was great for it.

the video description says the lowest rapid trigger is 0.4 mm but in the video and software u said it was 0.2, so im a bit confused about that

0.2 for rapid trigger, 0.4 for keystroke actuation afaik

Did you feel any latency issues, because people talk a lot about that Rtings 4 ms latency + 0.4mm keystroke actuation. Especially compared to your wooting? Is it that noticable? Drunkdeer already works on fixing the drivers for less latency and 0.1mm actuation.

I dont notice any latency issues. They claim this new keyboard also has a .4ms latency. The only thing I can notice is the actuation point but it isnt that big of a deal especially since i dont set all of my keys to .1mm on the wooting anyways. The rapid trigger feels nearly identical. wooting has .15mm rapid trigger and This has .2mm rapid trigger

Not sure how i feel about the 0.4 steppings. Doesnt the wooting do 0.1 increments? This doesn't seem nearly as well built as the wooting either. The software is functional but still not up to wootings level. I do like the fact that it has pgup/pgdown and arrow keys unlike the wooting. Decisions decisions.

Think about it, can you even visualize the difference between 0.1 and 0.4 mm? Besides rapid trigger is at 0.2 mm increments

Yeah, the wooting is better built, they were the first ones to implement RT and they nailed it. However, most people I know (that owns the wooting) already uses 0.4mm or something like that as AP, because it's too close to the top already. I can't even type properly with 0.4mm actuation on the Drunkdeer A75, I just use it like that for games and 1.6mm for typing. The RT at 0.2mm is good enough, I've had times where I had to use 0.4mm RT on the W key because I'd slowly unpress it while playing and get stuck in the middle of a push. I don't see it as a direct competitor of the Wooting itself, but as an option for people that cannot afford it or can't even buy it properly in the first place (DD is available on aliexpress, which has good shipping options worldwide). Also 75% and 65% layouts, as opposed of either 100% or 60%.

cheap compare to the other option =) Steel series and woothing are around 190$ this one its at 105$.. the feature avec less precise but enough for normal gamer =)

For this keyboard with hall effect switches and rapid trigger, yeah. Especially if you compare it to wooting, steelseries, razer's optical huntsman, and even corsair.

Nice to see more hall effect keyboards coming out. One of the main draws for the Wooting for me is the fact they support customizing, and they released their own stuff like PC plate (with included dampening) and alum case. I hope more companies release a competitive keyboard that also does this. No other keyboard has the performance of the Wooting while still offering a sound and feel like a custom keyboard. I mean you're not gaming ALL the time, the Wooting is a pleasure to use for other things that involve typing. They just need to release more form factors like 65, 75, TKL.

@@TeaTehMan Totally agree, I was intrigued when I first saw it mentioned in the mechkb subreddit awhile back (and asked them about rapid trigger since it wasn't originally in the spec list, they did say they would look into it), in fact I honestly thought it was a scam at first. But they proved me wrong and released a solid product. If they release their own alum case and other plates I would 100% swap over to that from my wooting since I prefer ANYTHING that's not 60%, but I just sort of deal with it for now lol, since I use it for work and other non-gaming related tasks. Edit: Actually I went to their discord. Apparently they're already working on aluminum cases, also silent linear switches, and they said tactile switches might be possible.

software looks like a massive let down, but not surprised. I dont understand the price isnt that much cheaper, and still needed pre-order. maybe the layout the major difference here compare to wooting.

considering the brand is probably just 4-5 months old, all the things they've done til now is honestly very promising. Also in their discord they said they will implement 0.1 actuation point at the end of the month, and will lower the latency and 2k hz polling rate in the future.

I dunno about you, but 68 USD difference is a lot for me. And the pre-order is likely just because it's a new item, it will probably become an in-stock item like their A75 eventually.
