The start of my new series of shooting videos. I'm looking to create more practical scenarios that challenge my ability to connect with targets of all different shapes and sizes.

Busy summer, lots of material to edit together. Main reason I wasn't making many videos over the summer was the time dedication I put into Ironman training. That was a great race and, one video coming in the future will be a motivational video based on my Ironman experience.

shooting and video making will never stop. However the time between uploaded content is going to be irregular. I upload as I make them, but there is no plan to this series. Sort of flying by the seat of my pants now.

Glad you're back Ryan. You are correct. Reading the wind is tuff. Keep those vids coming when you can. I like them a lot. Your new series looks very informative as usual. Thanks

I've watched your Road to Precision all the way through at least 3 times now. I found it very useful now that I'm amateur long range shooting.

Really? I was searching for a new song for this series and was really happy when I found the remix version. I like it, its a faster tempo. Plus Its kind of too late to change the song because the video is cut to the beat and I have already deleted the raw working version of it. However, If you have suggestions on what kind of shooting activities you want me to try, I'm all ears.

Cool idea with the balloons, when you get really good have someone out there holding them.

That's a custom made die I created for measuring, you can buy or get your gunsmith to make you one. For a .308Win its pretty simple. Drill a Letter N (0.302") hole in a piece of metal. Then upsize a small portion of it to O (.316") with letter and number drill index. This lets you measure very close to the land meets the Ogive of the bullet.

I'm having trouble recording the beta or I would already have posted some. Hopefully the game is better optimized on release because recording is really crappy on the frame rates for me.

That is pretty much it, although I don't know if I'll be competing in a tactiacal match any time soon. Just creating tactical type scenarios.

Oh, and two areas of shooting I really wish someone would cover better would be grip and trigger squeeze, and win estimation. Showing examples of different wind speeds blowing mirage on video has not been done yet, it may be an impossible undertaking. Showing people exactly how hard to grip the rifle and how to squeeze the trigger could be done though, and it would really help me and I'm sure others.

Well the original was an incredible intro song and the way you timed it with the gunshot sounds and your introduction video was really well done and you won't be able to top it lol. I can't remember but have you already done a video on seating depth? I never have confidence I'm actually finding the correct depth with the sharpie method or the barely seated dummy round method

Because I haven't bought the test equipment yet.. I am trying to take a very practical approach to shooting. I want to find the methods that can greatly enhance precision without a huge investment of time. From what I have read on the subject so far, concentricity does not give huge gains in precsion VS. the time you take to make the bullets all concentric. However I could be wrong because I haven't tested that theory yet.

how we shoot ballons. firtst we hang regular ballons off a 12" string then a 24 " string all the way up to 60" we build a gaint sawhorse to hang them off of but you could hang them off a tree or something they move around pretty good its quit the challenge. I know I should be trying to make some videos cause I've learned a lot from watching yours and probley could help shooters like you have

I have just the set-up for that, different legnths make them more unpredictable in the wind I assume? ur setup was actually quite easy and we only had a light breeze that day. Get on the video making train and start making your hobbies pay for themselves!!!
