Hi everyone, this is hopefully a useful lesson on Ain’t No Sunshine in the style of John Mayer. I’m using my Ibanez AS93 with Seymour Duncan 59 pickups, straight into my slightly modified Blues Junior III.
Hopefully I have covered the main bits to allow you all to play this song as closely to John as possible 😊
I read my comments quite regularly, so if you have any questions that’s the best place to reach me!
Thanks
maatiqs

@maatiqs
@maatiqs 4 жыл бұрын
Hiya, it took me too long to respond to you 🤦🏻‍♂️. I definitely would recommend the guitar. Just note I have upgraded the electronics to all American parts and wiring, and Seymour Duncan 59 pickups. With that the sound is now to my liking, but the original sound of it was really good too. The build of the guitar though is very very nice. And it feels very sturdy and stable.

Great tutorial. I can’t wait to get home from work now. I have the brand new AS73 faded indigo. It’s awesome as is, but I do plan on upgrading the pickups to something more 57-ish.

Hey man. Could you elaborate a little on the exact electronic upgrades you got? Because that has to be the best tone I've come across yet.
@maatiqs
@maatiqs 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I’ll try and list them all (geek warning): Amp: Blues Junior III, bought in 2016; Cannabis Rex speaker (made it louder, slightly more bassy and less ice picky); BillM basic mod (added a lot more bass and pretty much removed ice pick in the core tone); BillM twin stack mod (good to have); BillM Reverb potentiometer (this was the most important mod I feel. The reverb was too bright, metallic and ice picky. I also snipped off a capacitor in the reverb circuit as per a user comment on BillM’s website, it’s capacitor C23. If you cut off this capacitor the reverb darkens up REALLY nicely and it’s more controllable due to the potentiometer from BillM’s website. This I think made a world of a difference in the overall tone of the amp, along with the other mods). Guitar: Ibanez AS93; Seymour Duncan 59 pickup set (neck and bridge); American wiring, CTS log pots, and Switchcraft jack. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions if you want Maatiqs
