Aionios vs. Zombies

I didn't really talk about it, but based on what I say near the beginning I genuinely think Aionios is the Xenoblade setting that'd handlethe zombie apocalypse best. Gears and Saga have monsters that are somewhat analogous to them that're still a consistent threat, and the other Blade games don't have as much protection that I could BS into helping when compared to 3. Unless you think Monado Armour would help. That would be a different story.

Arguably, there's already a zombie in the world of Aionios, at least at the time of Future Redeemed. Shulk's been dead for most of his life, after all.

Mio kind of proves that healing arts do work on Moebius, since while she doesn't have any of the powers, she's still technically in a Moebius body from chapter 6 onwards and can be healed just fine.

@@YasEmisDaBus I'm not entirely sure those count since they're Moebius Arts or abilities healing Moebius. Even if they work, there's nothing saying that conventional healing Arts intended for normal soldiers would work on Moebius outside of post-Chapter 5 Mio.

There are actually two versions of a chapter 5 cutscene as a result of this, in order to change two lines. When X intervenes and forcibly cancels Lanz and Sena's interlink, there is one version for that being the first time you see X, and one where X gets recognised for if you have already completed Side Story: Eunie.

The desire to live within each soldier and the need to fill the flame clock would be the catalyst for the zombie apocalypse in Aionios. Husks would rise from the earth to seek out any form of life and snuff it out to fill the empty void within them.

Doesn't Moebius W (main game one, not FR) basically create actual zombies? So Moebius would actually know what zombies are, if nothing else they'd think it was W's doing.

Ah, yes, W. The deepest and most important 2-line character for lore I have seen in a video game. A Mobius whose special unique power is that they can whisper in the ear of anyone whose will is weaker than W's to mind control them - but whose own will is so weak that it only works on Husks that no longer have a mind of their own and people whose will has already been broken. Those two lines and W's animated behavior in the one scene they are in strongly suggest that before they became Mobius they felt like ANYONE could make them do ANYTHING just by whispering in their ear, like how Shania felt that she was completly immobilized and unable to so much as move due to the pressures put on her by others, and the resulting Mobius, S, is able to literally immobilize people and render them truly helpless as their special unique power.

I feel like a zombie apocalypse in Aionios would be a minor threat, it would probably just be another type of enemy traveling around. Zombies only work as a threat in worlds similar to real life because civilians are not armed with weapons that would do very well against them, (knives are just no, and guns would require you to have a pretty good to actually hit a zombie where it matters.) In Aionios, everyone is armed, and weapons that can decapitate and weapons with aoe healing are pretty common. The only way I could see zombies being a noteworthy threat is if they can infect the local wildlife and move up the food chain like you suggested.

Ah yes, Matthew Vandham. The guy who personifies the "punch now, ask later" concept. I can see him getting by bitten while punching something. And a zombie apocalypse crashing Zs programming, because it doesn't make sense I can also see happening. Z getting zombified might totally crash the system and just reboot the world like it was supposed to. I can't believe how this might actually even work. I still need to play FR. Hopefully I can get there soon.
