That sounds better than the icr 8600 on airband icom have made a few mistakes with 8600 noise reduction crap digital modes too few all mode???????

705 is fascinating piece of electronic, working amazing from LW (NDB beacons) after UHF. It is little miracle how ingeneers from Icom they managed to fit everything into such a small box. i can now hear all the stations on my antennas much better and stronger than on any previous etc sunsdr2 device and i have a lower noise level on all bands. and using the software I control and listen to my radio without a single cable connected via home Wi-Fi on a MacBook, iPhone and iPad. This is crazy 🤓

do not understand why they waste space on a ham radio for the air band. if you want too listen too the air band do like I have a 1000 channel scanner.

"waste space"? It is a software defined radio, so it is just some code, the mode is already implemented (AM) and the filtering is already in place.

Maybe you dont want it doenst mean others love to have this function of airband in the 705. Personaly i like that it is in the little box also. I think that with the airband inside leaves enough space for the rest. Never had a space problem so far.
