@@whaledriver5457not true exactly, sometimes they de-rate, the runway is contaminated so TOGA is required

@@brandonaviationhd TOGA is takeoff/go around. TOGA is engaged on every takeoff. If there is a de-rate thrust setting, it is programmed into the FMC. The TOGA switches are pressed and takeoff thrust is then limited to the de-rate programmed in the FMC.

I noticed that with a330 takeoffs but I kinda like it

Oh, they aren't. The pilot specifically does this during Icing Condition. To warm up/melt any ice the engine before take off, they 50% for 30 seconds before selecting take off thrust. I asked an A330 pilot about this before.
