Very excited to test this. Also a huge high five to racetech for actually stocking all these springs rates, most people just ignore people outside of the bell curve so that was a really nice surprise. Just because people also seem to always get upset if I don't say it, I paid for all of these parts with my own money, and some money from patrons. None of this was sponsored in any way!

Nice job! Those Eibach springs are fantastic. That's the brand I used to upgrade the shock on my V-Strom. I was really sketch about removing the spring like that since I've only ever seen people compress the spring before removing it so it doesn't just fly off the shock. But it's cool to see just how SIMPLE that one was compared to those I'm use to. Really was neat to watch you swap them out. I'd considered upgrading the shock on my Tiger but it's electronic and... eugh.. Not sure that's a can of issues I want to open. Seems like it'd be way more complex than something like the one on your Z900 and/or the V-Strom. Thanks for the video! Was very enjoyable!

Thanks! Eibach have been around a long long time. Car shock style :) The nice thing about most bike shock is it decompresses it as you release it so you never get that sudden release like in a lot of car setups. Glad it was good :) Have a look in to it, even grab the service manual. Some of the electronic shocks need a lot of fancy tools but some of them are set up fairly similar to this and easy to swap the spring, just not to rebuild! Definitely worth looking in to though :)

While a poor substitute for a coupla lumps of wood, a scissor jack would have provided good support. With the added bonus of being minutely adjustable when inserting bolts. Cheep as dirt, purchased at the local wreckers.

@TheGorillaBiker Um, I now have a chest infection to go with the back probs. Not good as I have lung probs and am on antibiotics and steroid rescue meds. Now I’m wondering, does Eibach manufacture all of Ractech’s springs? In any case, it’ll be cool to hear your thoughts on it. I’m sure it’ll be a huge improvement. There is only one true MacGuyver, and Richard Dean Anderson is his name. 😄

What kind of front stand are you using? And what is the diameter of the triple tee bolt on the stand? Also tree is a break line underneath the triple tee. Doe the bike rest on that? . I’m having issues with mine 😢
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 4 ай бұрын
It's a pitbull stand, I wouldn't buy any stand that wasn't a pitbull again tbh, expensive as hell but they are actually excellent quality. 21mm I think is the adaptor size from memory. No it doesn't rest on a brake line it inserts in to the bottom of triple tree, there is a rubber plug you have to remove to fit it in.

Which spring rate is it? Can you give me the part number, please? I struggle to find any product from Eibach related to Z900RS?

13.4kg, but I called to ask for the best recommendation for my weight and use. SESP 702250750 but I really wouldn't recommend just buying the spring I have, I'm 128kg. It's on racetech's product search page, you just have to click on the alternate springs section once you fill everything in. racetech.com/product-search/

@@TheGorillaBiker Thank you for the answer. I am from Germany and I wrote a message to Eibach, they answered immediately: The motorcycle springs are not available in Germany, because they are not TÜV approved to be street legal.

@@Ni3K no problem! Ah that's a pity, it's also one of the things I do not miss about the EU! I know obviously in general it's good as it protects from crappy parts but in this case Eibach don't tend to make poor quality springs.

The center screw and clip on the lower rear of the airbox is exactly the same as my ZX10 air box. Neat tip on the airbox screws turning counter clockwise to start them. What are those flappers for? To prevent scuffing under the tank? Tell me you are going to check your static sag!!! I think the red spring looks great. OC: I would if I had the need.
@TheGorillaBiker
@TheGorillaBiker 4 ай бұрын
So you're saying I basically have a ZX10? I wonder would a ZX10 engine fit......that'd be amazing. Just saves the threads eh, once you take things apart 1000s of times it helps :D The flooper flappers? They add 10bhp of course. Nah I think it's for tank scuffage by the looks of it yeah. Sag, never heard of it :P Of course :) Yeah I like the red a lot, it adds a nice extra element :)
