Hello travelers! welcome to Airtravel Aviation trip report!
This time we will be flying from Dubai to Delhi for the first time with Air India on the B787-800.
I will show you the aircraft configuration, meal and drink service and the Indian hospitality onboard this aircraft.
Air India’s journey took off in 1932, when Bharat Ratna J.R.D Tata formed an Airline, realising his dream. The first Indian to receive a commercial pilot’s license, it was his passion for flying that had sparked Air India’s origins.
Air India’s international connectivity, spanning cities in Europe, USA, UK, Africa, the Gulf, Asia and Australia, was strengthened after joining Star Alliance.

I would suggest heating up the gulab jamun for about 30 seconds in microwave and then have it with ice cream.

That was Kaala Jamun and Not Gulaab Jamun. Both look similar. Kaala Jamun is dry with nuts inside and Gulab jamun is bit smaller and dipped in sugary syrup. It tastes nice with the Vanilla ice cream.

Please dont try to fly Airindia, I purchased to fly from jeddah to chennai but in boarding counter they said your ticket cancelled, same like many passenger, we all upset without fault, they have changed flight number so its cancelled passenger suffered. Please avoid Airindia.

True . huge amounts of rattling / shaking from the aircraft on touchdown too... Tatas have a huge job ahead of them in terms of aircraft fleet maintenance and future servicing..

The desert is GULAB JAMUN - think of it as an Indian doughnut 🍩 deep fried in oil and then kept in sweet syrup to absorb all the sugar amd sweet juices. 🤤

@@airtravelaviation491 i have flew in air india multiple times... thats why.. but once one air hostess was rude to everyone.. she was shouting to much.. after that i didnt like to go in dat plane.. so my dad books in indigo ( low budget flight ) or air india express.. but now i think air india is good after u uploaded the video!!

Are you originally from the UAE? I flew Air India a couple of times on domestic routes when I visited India in Feb this year. I was unhappy with their boarding, passengers simply rush to the gate without lining up. Some politician flying in Business Class asked his assistants who had Economy tickets to sit in Business Class as well, and the stewardess could not stop them. But, overall the aircraft was ok, the staff was extremely polite, and the captain was awesome.

@@airtravelaviation491 Nope, the assistants were allowed to travel in Business Class for the entire 1.5 hr duration of the flight. The flight attendants had to treat them like Business Class passengers. It was ridiculous. I guess in a country like India where politicians are corrupt and often tied to the mob, these things are acceptable, and airlines cannot do anything about it.

@@airtravelaviation491 Well, it's probably something that routinely happens in India. Overall, I had a good experience with their domestic flights, but, I won't fly with them on international routes if I was to visit India again for a business trip.

My friend why did you opt for "hair pin" flight route (Dubai to Delhi and then Delhi to London)? Perhaps AI offered a better ticket price than Dubai -London). It seems you were satisfied with service during first leg. I think Tata should appoint personnel to monitor such passenger opinion posted on YT and Social media to take remedial measures. Management effort should be to match quality with Emirates and Qatar.

Gradually yes. But for now forget about Emirates and Qatar as they are 20 steps ahead compared to most of the competition apart from a few far eastern carriers. Air India just got privatized over a year ago, and we will eventually get there within 5-7 years time. Don't forget Campbell Wilson is the CEO who is also the former COO of SIA and Scoot with over 30 years experience. Plus SIA will soon have a 25% stake in Air India post the Vistara AI meger which is scheduled to be completed by the start of next year and will lend their expertise. Change does not happen overnight and we as Indians need to keep moderate expectations if we need to see growth of our prestigious flag carrier. Though i wish to see Air India take inspiration from Japanese carriers such as ANA and JAL that is known for cabin cleanliness, and on time performance as well as great service compared to that of Middle Eastern Carriers.

i've only been on emirates before for an international trip, its really good. this time, i had to with air india tho because i was meant to go to india in april but my visa hadn't come yet so i had to cancel it so i lost a lot of money and the cheapest one for august was air india. i hope its a good airline

Air India has the best tasting food out of all the airlines but the rest of my experience with Air India was very subpar. I hope Air India improves everything else in the future. I've flown Emirates but their food wasn't fully cooked so it was disappointing and the flight was old just like Air India so I felt like I wasted extra money on Emirates.
