Why do yall have this fixation on retros looking exactly like a shoe that came out 20 - 30 yrs ago. It'll never happen. Technology and fabrics have changed. The way they cut and stitch materials have changed. Likeeeee it's never ever gonna match up to the OG cuts. So stop expecting it too. Instant fire cop btw! Like the UNC 3s

Nike can make anything happen bro. A retro is a retro, of course they have to change something even of its slightly similiar to the OG. We would want it like the older version because of nostalgia purposes but nonetheless still good in my opinion.

@@dannya3476 if they were too replicate exactly to the tee of the original pair then there would be no need for the retro market and the prices for the sneakers would be ridiculous. Anticipation would be higher but the community would definitely suffer. If you think bots are a menace with the game being what it is now, can you imagine if they were to replicate sneakers identically to the originals. Also im glad we can distinguish bwtn pairs of different eras/yr

The only thing that I don't like about 5's is how the Ice turns yellow, which is normal, but the cage areas turn yellow and bugs me. I'll probably cop still

Metallics 5s hold a special place in my heart due to it getting me back into sneakers after the bots & hypebeast took over. I'll probably get the fire reds and hold em eventually since they so cheap (compared to most sneakers) right now.

Had the originals as a kid. They were my first pair of J's ever, and this retro's shape is a bit off. I could appreciate the slimmer toe, but from the bottom lace hole to the toe the angles look a bit too sharp. Everything should be more rounded. Biggest problem I have though, is the reflective tongue. Just like on the recent Black Metallic 5, it's definitely not supposed to be a shiny vinyl-like material. It's supposed to be more cloth like and have texture to it. Might have to pass at the $200 price point.

You definitely right..and that blue ice has always been eh to me..but I think they make the new tongues with this new material because the old ones would become brittle and chip away like Durabuck...if you didn't store correctly
