💪🏻 In this video we talk about the core differences between an airbag system and an Timbren SES system, and by the end of this video you’re gonna know exactly which product you need for your vehicle.
These air bag systems are really great. When they work, they do exactly what you need it to do. The big difference between air bags and the Timbren SES system is that first of all, there’s a lot more components involved. Air bags, air lines, hoses, valves, expensive compressors... and if you’re not gonna install it yourself, you’re gonna have an expensive installation bill. So, by the time you’re said and done, you’re getting into the realm of $2500.
The other thing that comes with an air bag system is maintenance. Each one of these components is an opportunity for failure, a potential problem you’re gonna have to solve down the road - replacing a bag, a valve, a hose - Even a compressor, if run excessively, can fail, and need to be replaced.
Another thing you’re gonna have to do is manually air up or air down the system whenever you hook up a trailer or put a load in the back of your truck. The system isn’t smart. In other words, you’re the one that has to add just the right amount of air compression. And if you’re trying to get away quickly on a Friday night with the kids loaded in the truck, this may not be the system for you because you just want to get going.
Timbren SES: The smarter system
Timbren SES kits are a maintenance-free solution you can install in your driveway in about 30 minutes. And here’s the best part: Timbren SES kits come with a progressive spring rate. In other words, instead of airing up or airing down like an airbag system, SES products automatically adjust to additional weight by pushing back while giving you a smooth, comfortable ride when you’re loaded.
SES helper springs are made of vulcanized, natural rubber. Each rubber moulding regulates its size and shape. Also, the durometer of the rubber used determines its strength. Some are single convoluted, designed to help with stability while most are double convoluted, offering a perfect blend of ride quality and stability.
Virtually every SES kit includes a pair of hollow rubber springs. Also included are components specific to the application. In almost every case, an SES kit includes - along with the hollow rubber springs - metal brackets, rubber spacers, and metal fasteners that facilitate an easy install.
SES helper springs are not a one-size-fits-all approach. In fact, virtually every kit is specifically designed to fit a particular make and model. That’s why there are over 400 easy-to-install kits that fit almost every truck, van, motorhome, and SUV that rolls off the assembly line.
Timbren SES kits usually replace the factory bump stops located on or above the axle or control arm. Aeon® hollow rubber springs have a progressive spring rate. In other words, their spring capacity gradually increases as the load weight increases. That’s why they can keep the vehicle level and stable even under the heaviest loads.
The Timbren SES system is a DIY solution that will save you at least $1500. Just set it and forget it! You’ll never have to think about it ever again. If you are in the market for a helper spring solution, something that’s more economical that you can install yourself and never have to maintain, Timbren SES is the product for you.
Timbren SES products come with a 100-day Money-back Guarantee and a Lifetime Warranty for as long as you own the vehicle. Head over to Timbren.com right now and transform the way you tow and haul.

Had airbags on my last truck. Just put these on my 21 GMC Sierra 1500 last week. They work good for not squatting your truck under heavy loads but the ride is terrible. It doesn't feel "progressive" at all. It's really bad on unmaintained country roads. Airbags are a pain with changing the PSI all the time but the ride quality is better. Thinking about removing the spacer to give me more travel and installing RAS to help smooth it out before the Timbrens make contact with the axle but that's another 500 bucks. Nothing's perfect I guess.

Seen this video and had them installed on my new truck, massively reduced squat. Was thinking on installing, RAS system (also amazing) but don't think I need it now.

I installed Timbrens after having air bags for ten years. Air bag pros: adjustable air means more or less capacity. Cons: even empty (5psi) they give you a rough ride (because they are attached to frame and axle.) Trust me 10 years of this I was over it! Timbrens after 10 years. Pros: no maintenance ever!. Ride is excellent with a heavy load, or totally empty. I tow a 15K fifth wheel trailer with over 3K tongue weight in bed of truck. Cons: Empty ride is horrible if you have some weight in your truck, 4 passengers, or/and around 500-1000 lbs. in bed of truck.(The reason: Timbrens are now in contact with axle.) The fix: Roadmaster active suspension! It raises rear enough for Timbrens not to touch the frame. Or re arc the springs that have sagged through the years.(which will sag again, and is expensive).

I'm in the process of restoring a 97 c2500 single cab long bed. The truck will be a daily driver and also used for work. I was going to install airbags but this system is appealing to me. My only question is this: Imagine you are loaded down precisely just enough to barely engage the Timbren, not a pound more. You then tow around town and as you tow you will have suspension travel of course maybe you go over a railroad track. Do you feel the re-engagement every time it makes contact? If so what I wonder if it would be jarring

Good question! If you are barely touch the axle from a bit of load, yes you may feel it. You could shorten the rubber spring a bit more as we have different options.

But do your rubber bumpers make the ride quality as rough as the air bags or adding an extra leaf spring?
@TimbrenIndustries
@TimbrenIndustries Жыл бұрын
Nope! These are designed to come in contact and engage with the axle when loaded up. They have a progressive spring rate. They are designed to ride smooth! When unloaded, you should not even feel them as they are not designed to be engaged without load unlike add a leaf which will feel stiffer all the time.

Our Timbren SES kits are designed with a progressive spring rate. Unlike the traditional air bag system with a static load rating determined by the psi applied. The progressive spring rate allows the SES kit to absorb road shocks and provide a much better ride when towing over stock.
