Do good research in training programmes - can you join a sponsored cadet scheme? Practice doing simple math quickly. Get on flight simulator, get a study level aircraft (e.g. PMDG 737NG), fly online and you will learn so much. Have you done a trial flight with a local flight school to get a feel of the aircraft? Are you going to be a full time or part time student? I would definitely recommend doing it full time, especially the ATPL theory part...

It was actually well within! By the way, in commercial aviation, the runway markings are not as relevant as your LTDP (latest touchdown point). That can be even before the last touchdown zone marking.

@@greatflyer_aviation Actually, in commercial aviation the runway markings are your primary source of validating landing performance unless specific variations exist under Part C (Route Manual) or the aircraft performance manual. Unless touchdown occurs within the marked TDZ, your landing performance calculation cannot be guaranteed. Regardless of runway length, industry best practice dictates that a GA must be performed should the aircraft touchdown outside of the marked TDZ. This constitutes part of the "Stable Landing Criteria" (as opposed to the stable approach criteria which refer to something different). To say that "...in commercial aviation the runway markings are not as relevant..." is inaccurate, misleading and potentially unsafe.
